Asking if a glitch from a 5 year old radio will be present in the new one is like asking if Ford cars still explode today since they made the Pinto half a century ago. Or asking if Samsung phones still catch fire in your pocket since the one model had battery problems. In other words it's stupid, asinine, and ridiculous, and we all know you're only doing it to stir up ****. So go away and let this thread be for discussing the new radio - post your hate in one of the other 76 million threads you've made about your complaints over the years.

So does that mean the US versions of the SOS100 & SOS200 uses the proper 25kHz steps for the VHF Aviation Service Search, and for the Military Air Service Search, uses 25kHz steps for the 138-144/148-150.8MHz portion and doesn't switch to FM/12.5kHz steps for the 380-400MHz segment of the 225-400MHz portion?

Bought and paid for, and other radios are arranged on the desk shelf for that bad little puppy to sit right here within my reach and at my fingertips. Scanner Master does take PayPal now as a form of payment. :)

I have been waiting a long time for this release. I am disappointed in a couple of things. No Wifi, but you can purchase a dongle to fix this....... Why is there no blue tooth capabilities? This would have been a simple thing to implement with almost everything these days are blue tooth and Wifi capabilities. I am going to sit back and punt and see what Whistler releases.

You may be waiting a while, they announced their new scanner plans 8 months ago and have as yet to even come out with a composite artists rendering of what that “new scanner” even looks like, and they had the current TRX models on display at the CES.

For those worried about the Ethernet cable.

Make sure you get the correct angle away from the radio and not in front.

Or away from the knobs but may cover the Micro USB jack.

Still unclear what capabilities are gained with the LAN connection besides making config changes over the wire; wouldn't be a permanent connection for me. If it's just updating then you can connect whenever you feel the need to update the database or firmware. Guess there are some that religiously update every week hoping and praying something magical happens.

If Uniden provides a proper logging and controlling software suite then having it permanently connected would be required. If they throw in a streaming server then that's another story; would be awesome to control and listen from another room. And glad to see they support static IPs and not force the use of DHCP that some of us don't want to use.

ProScan. It's fantastic.

As for Static IP, simply program the MAC Address of the scanner as static in your router software. I do this with two 536's and it works great.

Really looking forward to adding the SDS200 to my collection.

So the GPS puck is a separate purchase item. Unfortunate, but not outrageous.

Perhaps it will come with a plastic plug that will also cover the lights?

Lights won’t be on if there is no data cable inserted

Better yet. You can assign a static IP in the SDS.

Can you install a larger SD card, other then 8GB ?
I suspect so. For the SDS100, the 436HP/536HP, and the HomePatrol series (HP-1/HP-2) the largest size card that Uniden supports is 32gb, but I have seen comments from users that have cards up to 64gb, and are not having any issues. But unless you intend to record virtually full time, and not regularly clear the files from the scanner (or move them to your PC), an 8gb card will likely handle whatever you want without problems.
