Yes. Sentinel has not yet been updated for IP access. However, you'll need to either VPN into the scanner or have the scanner on a public fixed IP address if you are outside the network is connected to.

Can the ftp port on the scanner be changed?

I'm getting excited now! The core functions of Sentinel run fine under wine (USB to the Sdcard could be made to work but it was a pita), so with IP access to the scanner us Linux guys might be good to go!

Looking forward to testing the updated Sentinel.

The port cannot be, only the IP address.

This limitation can be easily overcome with port forwarding on your router/firewall. You can choose the external port number of your choosing and just route it to port 21 of the scanner's internal IP address. Personally, I will use a VPN for a more secure solution.

Will ip updates via sentinel be implemented for the 536’s connected via WiFi?

Does the Sentinel Over IP operate in Mass Storage mode? Trying to understand the concept.

So since you are in the PHX area is there any improvement in the LSM issues? Most likely not. Same as the SDS-100

Both the SDS100 and SDS200 work great here. Where I live there is no simulcast issue at all, I live way out on the fringe of the Valley and can only hear one tower on the simulcast so I don't have a problem. When I go to town it gets crazy and the SDS's work just as well as my G5 does. The SDS200 has much better audio of course and both work exceedingly well on NXDN.

UPMAN, Great job on the SDS Lineup ! When you have a spare minute can you send me a quick email? KM7CDP@gmail.com.

Thanks in advance.
Chris.

Riiiight don't hold your breath, though...

Lots of promising things with the 200...people complaining about ports, etc., but the more info we get as to the features they make possible I think is swaying some opinions.

Does it support wake on LAN? Would be neat to be able to VPN back into my home network from work and then control/stream the audio back to myself at the office.

The SDS200 are not using a satellite box direct conversion receiver chip they use in the SDS100. It's using a heterodyne receiver like the one in BCD536HP which would guarantee a problem free VHF and UHF reception. The SDS100 where a test to see if a complete receiver in a chip could be used that had the same performance as most SDR USB sticks. And as with a USB stick you get different results depending of users location and unique listening enviroment. I do not expect Uniden to make that mistake again in a $500 scanner.
