I have an sds200 that I programmed via Sentinel. I have two favorites lists: Waterloo Trunked and Waterloo Convention. I want to select Waterloo Trunked, from Waterloo Trunked then I select Waterloo Region I want to set the scanner to display Waterloo Region, Transit, and then scan Transit. I am at a loss to do this. Can any one help. It may be just me but I find Uniden sds00 Owners Manual and Easier to Read SDS-100/200 Digital Scanner Manual next to useless. Is there a manual that is written in plane English that tells yo how to set up feature/ modes in logical oder and does not hop fro one item to another with no connecting links. I have had this scanner for 5 years. Every time I want to change something I have to start over from scratch even though I follow instructions to the letter. Many do not work the way they say. Sorry for the rant, I am so frustrated with this scanner, I would deep six it if I could find another one that would work. Thanks for listening. Help would be appreciated. Richard Miller

You can do what you are asking about using Quick Keys. You can turn a specific Favorites list on or off by using a quick Key assigned to it. Within the list itself, you can use quick keys to enable, or disable, individual systems, departments, and sites.

On YouTube, if you enter the scanner model, and ‘quick keys’ in the search window, it will pull up a number of videos on the subject, including this one. Remember that while you are asking about an SDS200, the same features and operations are the same across all of the SDS and x36HP scanners. Procedures are the same on all of these.

Why not combine the two systems (one trunked & one conventional?) into the same favorites list then just do a system hold when you only want to monitor one of the two?
Scan Hold

Use Quick keys at the System & site levels if need be

Every time I want to change something I have to start over from scratch even though I follow instructions to the letter.
Are you using Sentinel for programming? Choose Scanner > Read from Scanner before making any changes and you shouldn't have to "start over from scratch" Though I highly recommend Proscan over Sentinel for programming as it allows for greater FL customizations (Sorting FLs, systems, sites, etc alphabetically, sorting frequencies numerically, others). Unlike Sentinel, Proscan allows you to append only the sites/depts/channels/talkgroups you want to append without having to append the entire system & delete the objects you don't need

What you could do is have one favorite list, named Waterloo, with a quick key of 1. Then inside that have the trunked system, set up with a quick key 1, and then have the conventional set up with a quick key 2.

Then to toggle, 1.1 E would toggle the trunked on or off. And 1.2 E would toggle the conventional on and off.

I know I'm splitting hairs, but there are three separate kinds of Quick Keys: Favorites List, System and Department.

Dave is spot on with his suggestion, but you would be setting up System Quick Keys, which are set in a different place (in the System Pane) than the Favorites List Quick Key (Favorites List Options).

(This is for the benefit of a new person).
