While I do take the 200 on trips/travel, it spends a good amount of time at home. Really no need for the gps to be trying to obtain satellites which it wont see inside the 200, inside a home without the external antenna. Not sure the lifespan on a cheap china gps so why have it running when not in use..
You don't have to connect the external GPS to the SDS200.

That is exactly how I use my 200, and having the built-in GPS would most definitely be a plus.
While I have(and will) always, have. Just a handheld. It would be insulting, to. Only have GPS in the SDS150, but. Not the SDS250. Because it would, sort of, go against the comparative progression i.e. BCD325p2(BCD996p2), BCD436HP(BCD536HP), SDS100(SDS200), SDS150(SDS250).

Then why talk about the SDS200 when it is the SDS250 thread?

Because it relates to post 14 where one user made a comment about sds200 and gps, and I quoted the user in post 14 who quoted him.

Either way, a gps in a potential sds250 would be nice and used by some. But if Uniden did a gps, it would be much more $$$ than what my gps cost.

If we are adding wish list items to a potential SDS250. I would love the option for a remote display IE output to a laptop or tablet where we could have a 8 inch or better display and be able to read all the displayed text without trying to read 1/16 in characters off the built in display. I do not think having it work as a remote head is necessary although that would be super cool.

I’m not so sure. Given the metal case and typical mobile mounting locations with no view of the sky, an external GPS antenna would be mandatory for a mobile installation. Would it be included or an extra-cost option? Plus, how many buyers use them mobile as opposed to on a table at home? The cost/benefit calculation for built-in GPS doesn’t necessarily add up; might as well stick with the optional GPS which someone could buy if they need it.

Bluetooth and an improved receiver would be a much better selling point.
You do realize that a descent GNSS/GPS chip is roughly $30 nowadays. Seems like it would be foolish to not include it along with an external antenna connector for it.

I will buy it so you do not have to.
But of course.

HDMI out would be deluxe. @ProScan on 80 inch tv looks great.

Exactly. Then they can get rid of that Auto Locate crap.

I wouldn't mind added GPS but I'd like a version with no embedded GPS especially if it makes it cost more, but I don't take it in my car, I'm pretty sure it's actually illegal to so so in Indiana unless u got a HAM license or something, I'm not exactly sure .

But a version without it would be great cause I'd never use it and it suck to pay 100, to 200$ more for something I wudnt use, especially someone like me who don't have a lot of extra money I'd have to save for a while to get a new one, but I'll probably get the 250 a while after it comes out after I saved enough to get it.

Or another thought for the folks at Uniden, why not give us a true wide coverage scanning receiver. Something where we can have some capabilities down low for shortwave, side band etc? Maybe a 2nd or 3rd VFO?
