The database is only as the locals taking time to submit changes. If you read the last thread, you will understand why I asked. If they did, no one updated the database. (Still mode "D")
So after reading the last thread which was filled with apparent misinformation, can anyone confirm if Seminole Fire has gone encrypted? I'm coming down in a few weeks and debating on programming my XL200.
I agree that thread was full of misinformation, and I suspect that's why it was closed. It's a shame to the people who are actually curious or contribute meaningful and valuable info to the topic instead of just spreading lies and misinformation. I swear as soon as encryption is mentioned the thread is thrown off a cliff. The database is only as the locals taking time to submit changes. While I don't have any inside information or monitor the system normaly, when I checked last time (In November), everything was clear and nothing had changed. I'll see if I can confirm again in the next few weeks unless more locals can chime in by actually monitoring the system.
The database can be slow to update, especially in Florida. Sometimes, it does not update at all. But then again, the only way the database gets updated is if people submit it. After that, there's an additional waiting period, depending on how long it gets seen by a DB Admin and then entered by the admin.
just out of curiosity, i checked -- I can hear the Seminole system this morning.
the last hour or so - I've not seen a single encrypted call on this system.
I do see an unlisted TG, 8403 - that is not listed in the RR dB.
After an unbelievable band opening again, I was able to monitor Seminole and I did not see any encryption anywhere. So after reading the last thread which was filled with apparent misinformation, can anyone confirm if Seminole Fire has gone encrypted? Hope this helps!Seminole County has changed it's fire station alerting/paging system from a Motorola QCII system with voice dispatch simulcast on 154.235 (103.5) to an POCSAG 512 kbps alphanumeric paging system on 153.995 and an IP based alerting system over the county fiber optic network.
Yes, that is what I mentioned and I am aware of how the DB works. The Florida RR dB is only updated when information is submitted. No inputs = no data updates. Even the admins must use the same data submission process as everyone else to ensure that data is trackable from input to processing.
