Is the scanner seeing the control channel of the FleetNet OPP site you wish to monitor? If not, that can be why you have crickets.

In other words, if you isolate the FleetNet site, does the scanner see the control channel, if it's programmed correctly ?

All's well. I was playing around with the radio. I'm in a learning curve for both the Proscan program and the radio. I had changed some settings.

I have a closet upstairs that has my old radios in it. I have been moving some equipment there that I no longer use. Four older Yaesus, several scanners and a couple of receivers were cluttering up my desk.. I know some amateur friends who have every piece of equipment they ever owned sitting on shelves in their shacks. I don't know why they can have so much stuff that they don't use taking up space!

I decided to downsize. As you can see in the picture, I have managed to fit what I need in one corner of the desk. The two things that are missing is a dual band VHF/UHF radio and an SWR meter for my HF radio. They are at my summer trailer and will be home this weekend. It's great to see my desktop again!

Good news. UPS got the scanner back from Hamilton and delivered it here yesterday afternoon.

I downloaded Proscan and got the unit uploaded with some freqs. I upgraded to DMR and managed to get the license key entered into the scanner.

I turned the unit on and am waiting to hear something. All I am getting so far is MoH ambulance. It must be quiet today. :D
What do you have the squelch at?
I find 2 is best for my location.

Also try and separate the scanner antenna from any antennas used for TX. Especially V/UHF.

For sure. That's one of the first things you learn when you get your ticket. How to properly grow an antenna farm! :D

I have a discone planted in my attic that I am using for the scanner. It's too cold to put it outside unless I can convince my son in law to do it.
