Both train control ops and MOW ops for the NHSL and trolleys are on thr trunked system. I'm not sure I understand who this "Metro" channel would even be for.

Hearing repeated automated voice radio testing "Test 1...Test 1...Test 1..." over and over again from 453.800 TGID 16777215, Slot-2, CC14 with RAS. Any future plans for Septa migrating over to DMR?

And yet the phantom P25 data bursts continue from the remaining frequencies on the license, NAC293 with no voice traffic ever logged

I can tell you first hand the dmr is not septa. The human voice is. But I would love to know where that dmr is comming from. Thanks

Septa is not using dmr
...yet. There are no other non-Septa possibilities on 453.800 remotely close to where I was when I posted the thread. The research for future usage has already been done on this thread & your response is going on 5 months too late

Who said anything about GTR 8000's. The trollies are having communication issues in the tunnels on their current 500 mhz channel (channel 12). They are eventually gonna get a radio that will work in the tunnels that isnt going to be part of their current or future TRS. The operators just have a basic radio.

I’ve been in the victory ave site. Once when they were adding the 7-800 antennas to the tower and again after the system was installed. Have great pics of it as well.

Also, doing a ULS search, Septa isn't licensed on that frequency

Closest licensees on that frequency that I'm finding is

The 7-800 is gonna be for their new TRS. Supervision, Bus operations, and so forth. Things that are above ground.
Septa Pd jumped over to Philly's TRS, the went back to their analog channel because they were loosing reception in the underground regional rail stations in center city.

@Septa3371CSX1 Joe I know you're not here often but given what Rich divulged in post #17, any idea why a new conventional UHF channel would be needed for this new operation as opposed to remaining on the TRS?
Sounds like that video from the 234 explains what it is - a new channel for the NHSL to use for stop and proceeds to free up the MOW channel.
I wonder what the new radios being installed on the buses are. I would imagine if they are going to work on the current analog 500 system (which from someone who has to use the system and monitors it regularly it sucks) as well as the future 700 system so I'd imagine APX 8500's (don't think you can get 7500's anymore outside of the used market).

Im thinking they're gonna give tge trolly operators a DMR radio to get them off of the MOW channel. They arent gonna give operators APX radios. Eventually the supervisors will get APX radios for the 700 TRS. I believe the new 700 mhz system is up so if anyone with tracking software can see if anything pops up. Septa has a bunch of 700's. I pulled them from FCC website.

I'm not sure if it started today, but from 04:00 to now, this is being used for the "M" Line (old Norristown High Speed Line).

Don't know if this is temporary or permanent.
