They added 851.4 as a new control channel. I re-ran Unitrunker and it is still marking 851.15, 851.4 and 851.425 as control channels. They just switched back to 851.425 again just now at 9:30. I suspect we will see some changes and tweaks as they reband the system.

For those with 996XT issues, I was able to get 3 working using the Freescan software. If you would like for me to take a look at yours, I am in Hayward.

Since I don't own a 996XT, I can only provide general steps. Note that UniTrunker is used to analyze the system, it does not program your scanner.

1. Dowloand and install UniTrunker here: Index of /download.
2. Connect your 996XT to your computer first.
3. Now, open UniTrunker you just installed.
4. Create a new receiver, select "Inline".
5. On the new window that pops up, select "996XT" under model.
6. Configure the serial port settings as necessary, make sure they match Device Manager in Windows.
7. Tune your 996XT to an active control channel and a new window should pop up.
8. Click the various tabs to see current activity on the system, system frequencies and which channels are marked as control channels, etc.
9. Use this table (http://home.ica.net/~phoenix/wap/TRUNK88/Motorola Channel Numbers.txt) to convert from LCN to frequency. Remember to look at the rebanded column.

See how based on the control channel, it can automatically find all the voice frequencies in the system? This is why I keep saying you only need to program in the control channels and the scanner will do the rest. As long as you have the rebanded tables and necessary settings put in correctly, your scanner will do the rest. There really isn't a point to keep track of which voice frequencies are active. It is important to see which channels are marked as control channels so when they switch, we won't be left in silence.

Radiobern, can you run Unitrunker on PWRS and see if anything has changed with the control channels?

For PWRS, UniTrunker indicates 852.3625, 852.8625, 853.8125, and 853.25 as control channels. It also indicates this is an 8 channel system.

For CERS, it indicates it is currently a 35 channel system. The same control channels 851.15, 851.4 and 851.425 are marked as such. From running UniTrunker for just a few minutes, it looks like there is no more voice activity in the 866-868 range.

Thanks, I'm getting the same results the old-fashioned way. I just saw 857.2375 come up on PWRS, bringing us to 8 channels as indicated. 35 channels sounds like a lot for CERS, which has previously been a 23-channel system. I'm up to 21 channels from observation, with just 2 outstanding frequencies on my list (851.1250 and 858.2375). I haven't seen these come up, but maybe someone else has...

Since they've started this BS today I'm getting some strange CC bleedthrough of some type on 852.0875. It usually pops up on tg 14832. I'll hit scan and hit goes away for a couple minutes and comes back.... it doesn't sound like a normal CC sound, higher in pitch and faster...

You know who I feel sorry for are the folks who bought the Home Patrol Scanner and are still waiting for the database to catch up with the rest of us...

The database has the control channels and indicates that it is a rebanded system, so the HomePatrol should work with current programming.
