Dave, I'm going to presume it came with an AC to DC power adapter? Mobile and house?
Larry

Hi Larry,

Yes all of the above [emoji3] as always. Just to be clear [emoji11] (and auto adapter, as in wire to battery or fuse box). USB cable too... (And cat-5 cable for split from body)[emoji50]

Ok folks, I'll go on continued record that I'm not a fan of the lack of full keypad, or the complicated menu system. Mobile operation is going to be poor unless stationary, to be able to make changes. PLEASE do not attempt to change scan lists from a moving vehicle, LOL[emoji108]

Another note to self (and other users) the power sequence will tell you to let go of the power button once the radio firmware has started sequence of operations [emoji38]

Wow, almost booming and overloaded with and external antenna (Scantenna, 30 foot above ground, attic protection, RG-59M, isolation bridge and multicoupler). Signals in band openings for 700 and 800 MHz rebanded systems coming from Chicago. About 90 air miles.

Happy so far[emoji4]

Thanks for the nice pictures. Who would of thought that after a couple of years that we would finally get the chance to finally pickup this GEM of a radio.

Can't wait until I get my radio tomorrow.

Not sure if I can say its necessary, but many times when a new radio is released a new firmware is produced to fix problems discovered after the product has been assembled in the factory and shipped prior to update. A good thing for the end user. Many times the product taken home never gets a firmware update unless the owner is savvy enough to do the research to see if a problem identified has been fixed by the company's engineering team. In this case an EDACS ESK problem was discovered and corrected among other minor errors. A positive move by the firmware programmer. A welcome change for those keeping score.[emoji3]

But it sure is a breath of fresh air knowing that Whistler is on top of their firmware updates and software updates. Kudo's to Whistler for jumping out of the gate with a great product.

I think they are going to hit a home run with this radio. Some will beg to differ but o well.

The digital P25 decode modulation is the best in the market.

True, but the vocoder is the same for anyone who licenses it. As long as the received decoded voice sounds good, it doesn't mean anything to the end user. Only the garbled motor boating sound is going to get attention form the scanner user who is looking for the better scanner/receiver. Joe Blow isn't going to care as long as he or she can understand the received decoded voice clearly and complete.

P25 and analog sounds as good, but better, than the WS1080 (PSR-800) with the top firing and larger speaker, IMHO.
