Reports about whether there is discriminator IF output seem to be conflicting. Can someone who actually has the radio confirm whether this feature exists. Thank you.

It does ... as per this very thread (Number 96) ..... running Unitrunker (as a PSR800 in that software).

... just got done programing... Ez scan works just like psr-800 but now you can enter a talkgroup or conventional freq manually (some were not in the library)... I have windows 8.1 so that was a PIA to install the drivers... I must say the folks at Whisler were super when I called for information... I'm going to hook it up to one of the ground planes on the roof now and see how it sounds on Philly PD phase II... so far all the p25 digital sounds great (like all gre radios do)... it's much smaller than I thought... it would be nice if it were bigger giving room for a keyboard and a really BIG display so you don't drive into a ditch trying change scan lists... 73's... Bob...

Can you give some tips on how to install the drivers on Windows 8.1

I see the .inf file and tried to browse for it but it says it encountered a problem installing the drivers. Weird

Pictures, so it did happen! (Yes...big grin...tools! :roll eyes: )

Dave! Outstanding documentation. I wants one...now. Thanks for all that. And I officially dub you the SOFA_EMPEROR (laughs). Got the game controller, beer coaster, munchies, Frabreez, remote controls, and sofa of course. Just need a few mostly empty pizza boxes and lots of empty chip bags and bottles lying around.

But seriously, nice pictures and great info. Thank you!

Not to bash them, however I am sticking with Uniden. If this company took over from GRE I will stay away. I owned 2 of there radios in the past and had issues with both of them. Really liked the software layout but had to many reception issues. Switched to Uniden and haven't looked back. Maybe in the future will give these guys a chance.

I pre ordered my 1095 from Scanner Master a month ago for $499.95 and I'm told it will ship on Wednesday. I now see their price is $549.95, wonder why the increase? I can't wait to get this radio as I have the 1080 and it works perfectly for my area as does the PSR-800. Wish it was Wednesday already!!

Guess I should tidy up a bit for the family photos [emoji12][emoji108]

Even on the stock antenna in the basement/lower level of the house, the P25 decode and conventional reception is good here.

Is anyone selling this scanner for under $500? Scanner master raised the price. I was going to order from them but not now. Need a cheaper source.

I see more than one company under $500, and don't forget to google search to see what comes up.

Yes, the addition of manual frequency entry/THID is a major plus, even without a full keypad.

Just so others know, the driver installation is on the Whistler web site here:
https://www.whistlergroup.com/usa/faq/index/categoryshow/cat_id/4/

It uses the WS1080 /PSR800 as an example, but is the same procedure for the 1095.

SINCE THE face is removeable does that mean there could be more problems like parts wearing out etc?

The connection is spring loaded gold pin to pin header on the back of the remote head. There could be connection issues with alignment if the head is not fully seated to the radio, dirt or dust is on the connector, or it becomes corroded. There are washer size magnets at each end of the head to the radio body, as well as alignment points on the right side of the head. Also a spring held click latch to the left of the head with a release button. Time will tell how well it holds up. Let's hope it was tested under powered vibration, to see that the life of the head to the radio works for a long time.

Thank you very much edmscan. If that is the case, a WS1095 will be ordered in the near future (like tomorrow morning).

Steve

The PC/IF output is working though the USB port at least with UniTrunker. I need to check the IF output to the headphone jack to see if it will actually send data.

Phase II report...

... programing fine tuned... id tags the way I want them... scan lists and sites strategically mapped out... it helped that I have a psr 800 and was familiar with EZ scan... note that I did most programing with the card in the card reader on the computer... remote is so small and light... ready to install in car... I live outside of Philadelphia and with my roof antennas Philly phase II comes in crisp and clear... not muffled and garbled like my POC x36's... Bob...

Well, no matter the setting, I'm unable to get a signal in the IF mode to the audio input jack of a Windows PC. I've tried the headphone setting and rear external speaker output jack, IF settings on and off. No luck.

The software/firmware setting all look like it would work, but the only audio I get to the PC is garbled and has a very low volume mix of the local NOAA weather station. At least the PC/IF works through the USB port. I just verified that again with UniTrunker.
