P25 and analog sounds as good, but better, than the WS1080 (PSR-800) with the top firing and larger speaker, IMHO.

I'd say, and I will, nice work Whistler. I'm impressed. This is what we are looking for!

Thank you DonS. And the former GRE Development team that worked hard on the PSR-900 project prior to the welcomed Whistler acquisition. Please keep up the great work and to Whistler: Please continue to use the talent that is available to bring you the next generation scanner: you do know who those folks are and their availability.. They love their work and only want to continue the scanner hobby and make the best product for us hobbyists. Thanks for bringing this radio to fruition.

Now, please listen to us hobbyists and continue to move forward. The first and best way to get us to purchase your scanners are to put Phase 2 in the existing WS140 and WS1065, with only changes to the firmware needed to decode and display Phase2 and nothing else. Questions? Just ask DonS he already knows what you need to do.

Please listen to the scanner hobbyists and you'll continue to do well.

That depends on your level of expertise, but if your on this RadioReference web site, you can get all the help you need. The WS1095 is sold as a beginner level setting, but can be quickly changed to expert level with one tic. Same as the Psr-800/Ws1080.

Wait! The knob reads vol/squelch.
Does it do both? An actual volume knob?

Press (tap) the vol/sq button once for squelch, and again for volume. Rotate for change in volume /squelch number.

Hi Larry,

Yes all of the above [emoji3] as always. Just to be clear [emoji11] (and auto adapter, as in wire to battery or fuse box). USB cable too... (And cat-5 cable for split from body)[emoji50]

Thanks, Dave. Been looking to add another base unit.
Larry

I have excellent news. The WS1095 is working well with UniTrunker set to inline as a PSR800.

Output from the USB port, settings menu, PC/IF CCDump checked, Paused on an inactive TGID.

Any chance of a YouTube video or attached video (zip file) here for us to hear how the radio performs ?

Received my WS-1095 today and it works great. Had a little bit of a problem installing the drivers but finally got it working.

I think having the speaker ontop is great. I am just use to using an external speaker since it sounds way crisper. But otherwise the radio functions great. No issues and no problems. Very happy

Whew!!!

... just got done programing... Ez scan works just like psr-800 but now you can enter a talkgroup or conventional freq manually (some were not in the library)... I have windows 8.1 so that was a PIA to install the drivers... I must say the folks at Whisler were super when I called for information... I'm going to hook it up to one of the ground planes on the roof now and see how it sounds on Philly PD phase II... so far all the p25 digital sounds great (like all gre radios do)... it's much smaller than I thought... it would be nice if it were bigger giving room for a keyboard and a really BIG display so you don't drive into a ditch trying change scan lists... 73's... Bob...
