Just caught a new TG this evening while in Beckley TG 5123 off the Beckley Site, no doubt its Raleigh Co Sheriff Private. It was identified as the "new radio" when a unit contacted headquarters earlier this evening. If someone wants to add it to the DB they certainly can

Any update or news about the Weirton tower being activated.
No, but you could be the first to know. All ya gotta do is periodically scan 450-465 Mhz on your scanner, and if you find a new [undocumented] P25 control channel, it's probably the Weirton tower.
Otherwise, the only way you'll probably know is when _I_ discover it. I figure you could do just what I do and check for its existence once in a while. You might find it active before I do.

I do hear the Ohio simulcast which it look like the closest tower for me is around West Liberty. I do at times got the Moundsville tower also. I guess when they turn on the Archer Heights tower that will make Brooke county active.

Brooke Co Fire / EMS / EMA sometimes use SIRN currently and can be heard on the Ohio Simulcast. So even if there aren't standalone sites active in Brooke/Hancock, if you can monitor the simulcast you'll pick up some Brooke activity.

For those listening in the southern part of the state I caught 5117 over the weekend in Raleigh Co. Not 100% confirmed yet but sounds like Raleigh Co Sheriff has now made the switchover, only hearing State Police on their conventional freq now. Maybe Jeff or a listener in Raleigh Co can confirm this for us.

Mike - Last year you had a posting about the Berkeley County site freqs. I had forgotten until now to post that Berkeley County SIRN has added 453.9750 to voice freqs. This is one of the freqs you posted then. It has been active for a while now. I submitted it to be added to the db several weeks ago.
Thank you for that. I [just] noticed that you posted an updated list of frequencies in use on that site. Looks like Jess already made the changes in the DB.
You might find a one or two from that license pop up sometime. I didn't bother to crosscheck to see if all of the ones on that license are now accounted for.
