I have heard that ERJ has another site within the same complex that is for Federal prisoners. Could be that is the new TG.

TG- 9996 last night 1/18 Guy came on and said I'm off the air. I do see it in the data base, but wonder where these talk groups were obtained from? Always looking to see whats going on and who's testing what.
With all the Major event departments, are they just listed or are they REALLY READY for events?

All information in the Database is obtained through reliable sources and are READY for events. They would not be put in if they were just guesses.

Federal Agencies

No I understand the frequencies and TG's are confirmed, I'm not questioning that. I know after 9/11 the Federal Government put out tons of money for agencies and communications. I don't hear much for testing or training. W.V. Regional Response is quiet, D.H.S. is quiet, Incident Response Teams are quiet. My question was/is are these agencies, just set up and now inactive and untrained? Will an event happen and they will not be trained and ready.

The agencies in my area have not been trained in the use or any of the functions of the radios or the system.

Exactly

I have done a lot of looking around on the web about these agencies. One of the local RRT's had a site and in the beginning took pictures of the expensive equipment and had reports of meetings. Later in reports it mentioned attempts to continue training, but it looks like after the money was spent, the interest fell off. The WV Inter-op. system (as far as I know) has not been given a hard run to see just what can be expected in an emergency. Here in Berkeley county, and I'm sure many other counties have railroads and chemical hazards that we have seen fail. There was huge sums of money put out there to be granted to counties to get these agencies put together. Seems it would be a big waste if it all gets setup and is let degraded for lack of commitment to follow threw with the original plans.

The W.V. Regional Response channels has been used during events here like Bridge Day, Boy Scouts, and the PGA. While I know the fire dept. in this area has used these radio and took limit training on them, I doubt the law enforcement agency here has. The county 911 system at one point try to stop the use of SIRN system, therefor the growth of it here has been slow.

The first power point short cut was what I had used for my post, same as your referring. ---Funds-- is one of the challenges. Following the second shortcut tells me as you say it got handed over to DHS. From there it's a spiderweb of agencies. In my old age I have become used to seeing Governments planning and spending and then problems leading to loss of what happened. This may not be welcome, but I see a event like the hurricane in New Orleans happening and then agencies claiming they better get some money and start an committee to study what happened then form some new agency. I hate to be so critical of some Government programs, but there just may be reasons.

Beckley Correctional Center, I added it to the Database.

Would that be the Southern Regional Jail at Beaver or something else?
I'm not familiar with "Beckley Correctional Center".
Thanks
Harry
