I was hearing someone ordering a burger over citywide 1 not sure if it was a cop with open carrier or what and another cop told the dispatch to turn off that signal. Dispatchers have some control over radios?

5000 protesters in just one group alone. Biggest group yet? Windows being broken in midtown. 2000 going towards 1 police plaza. Stay safe everyone.

I've heard there's a way to track it down. They better do something quick. This is not the time to have to deal with it.

Does anyone think NYPD did not respond adequately, only 4,000 cops on 3rd day and only today will deploy 8,000.
It’s interesting to observe how in different cities, cops are wearing protection gear but in NYPD only helmets not even shields.

Bronx is getting hit tonight. Looting and burning RMP's. These dispatchers are the best in the business. I don't know how they keep track of the non stop 10-13's.

Last night they attacked EMS in Manhattan too. This is not a protest, this is a riot. Everyone, police, military etc needs to come in and restore order.

The curfew starts at 8pm on Tuesday. Will that stop the looting and destruction? If not the national guard has to be considered.

No chance, they're putting something into place that cannot be enforced. It is so ridiculous the National Guard isn't already deployed, almost every luxury store in Manhattan has been looted at this point...

I just watched the mayor's press conference a few minutes ago and he explicitly stated that the National Guard would absolutely NOT be deployed. He cited that the NYPD has been specially trained to work within the dynamics of NYC and that an outside armed force would only make matters worse. With NYC's 36,000 police officers he insists they have everything under control.

This is the same guy that just accused the NYPD of “not doing their job” this guy is a clown, and a disgrace to every resident of the five boroughs. I guess the city will continue to unfortunately burn, until the Guard and SP are activated. Unbelievable.

Everything has not been under control night after night. Can the governor send in the guard on his own? Cops got shot at and ran over last night. Cuomo doesnt sound happy with De Blasio.

It certainly doesn't look like it's under control on National Television. The mayor seems very bizarre and out of touch. Is it true that his daughter got arrested rioting?

The governor is the only one that can send in the National Guard.

My condolences to the New York Police Department. It's a shame what's happening to New York. They've been waiting for the lockdown to be lifted so they can reopen their businesses and city that's been destroyed by the mismanagement of the virus and now this.

My condolences to those who live in New York City. I live on the Philly border and it's the same deal here. Cops just watching the looters and arsonist in action and ordered to do nothing. Philly is also a socialist Sanctuary City. It's been destroyed.

We are also still on lockdown until Friday but even after that very restrictive openings. Ugh.

Very sad.

As Much as I don’t like DeBlasio, I don’t think National Guard is needed, not with the situation at hand. NYPD unlike other departments is very large and does have the manpower to deal with what’s happening now. NG is not properly trained and uses mindset and training for combat zones. We are still United States and not a dictatorship that calls in troops to gun down citizens. This is not post Katrina like collapse of a city. NG was involved in a shooting of an unarmed man already and it just inflames more unrest. What I saw in DC yesterday was shocking. We can’t say you must protest peacefully and when people actually do, disperse them like cattle with tear gas and trauma-causing rubber bullets that leave people blind. The whole world is watching as foreign journalists were assaulted for doing their jobs. We must do better as a country and hold our government accountable still. I don’t support looting of property and to me most are being done by regular criminals taking opportunity of the situation.

New York City Police Department is capable of handling the situation... I can understand that and I'm sure they are. They have S O D and many other resources. They are specially trained and I do think they could do the job with the proper leadership and direction. If the mayor doesn't want the National Guard then he should direct his police chief to use all of those resources available and take care of business as I'm sure New York City police officers are anxious to do, using the proper protection, the correct effective tools and the number of personnel required. Officer safety comes first, then criminal's safety, it's not the other way around.

You say that the looters are just criminals taking advantage of the situation, I agree, being a criminal is a risky business and has inherent dangers associated with it, you're liable to get hurt and have physical force used against you by police. Occupational hazard. Sometimes criminals get hurt committing serious crimes.

You say the whole world is watching, well... The whole world IS watching and a lot of them are laughing.

The damage is not limited to burning police cars and buildings or the loss of merchandise from stores. The damage goes much further than that.
