I would choose not to program the IntelliRepeaters & 1-050 because of the range of them. In your opinion, which ones should I program in and which ones should I leave out?
Definitely sites 1-002 and 1-049. You can also add Site 1-030 if you'd like, but it only works if you're in Oak Lawn as it doesn't have much range. I wouldn't bother with the Cook Co Sheriff sites 5-001, 5-002, etc since it's all encrypted traffic.

I meant to say that you should leave in 1-002, 1-049, and if you'd like, 1-030. I'd leave/lock out the 5-xxx sites since it's all encrypted.

That also depends on your location or if you'll be visiting other areas. Most of our sites carry similar talkgroups and if you're stationary, 1 or 2 sites should suffice.

As someone who primarily monitors FDs I'm mostly trying to receive ISP and all the various FD channels.
Anything in the 25xxx series talkgroups will only be on the zone 5 sites. Everything else will be on 102 and 149.
Thats what I was looking for. Thanks guys for the help.

What's your location? What ISP Districts/FD's are you looking to monitor?
I'm along the border of D1 and D2. I was programing Cook County into the 325P2 for the rare occasion I go out there. Was hoping to get ISP D-CHC, LTACC, NWCD and the other fire dispatch/tac channels on sc21.

Cook County Sheriffs are encrypted so that's a no-go. District 1 ISP occasionally picks up traffic on the DuPage simulcast site, but someone who monitors site 1-049 can comment if ISP District 1 affiliates with that site on a regular basis as well as the other Districts you mentioned. LTACC Fire can be heard on the DuPage site and not sure on 1-049?

If ISP District 1 and LTACC Fire affiliates regularly with the departments mentioned, site 1-049 is probably all you need. Keep in mind your reception might be compromised on the simulcast sites with a 325P2 as it's performance is very location dependent.

Does anyone know for sure who is using SC21 TG 36422? Caught a transmission from an ambulance returning from Mercy Riverside. As far as I can tell, that would be Mercyhealth Javon Bea Hospital on Riverside Boulevard in Rockford. RID 139003 is MEDIC 3, RID 139000 is the base/dispatcher. I caught this traffic on Site 149 (South Cook County), but another listener logged these RIDs on this talkgroup on Site 111 (Rockford) last week.

The Radio Reference SC21 wiki shows a helo previously flown by Northwest Rescue (an ambulance company based in Harvard) using RID 139200 and their dispatch using RID 139000, both on TG 36421. Not sure if they are flying a helo currently or not. FWIW, this past October they advertised on their Facebook page Northwest Rescue for EMTs and Paramedics to work for them in Rockford. Is anyone out there familiar with this company or their dispatch comms?

Whoops - heard this on Site 102 (South Cook County), not Site 149.

There is a group of "mystery" SC21 talkgroups that appear to be affiliated with CenCom E9-1-1 dispatch (Round Lake Beach). From the notes below, they seem to be primarily used by Fire/EMS agencies in that area, possibly as tactical ops/fireground channels:
  • TG 1876 - CenCom TG? "Mobile"?
  • TG 1877 - Barrington FD use (1/21) - CenCom fire TG?
  • TG 1878 - Rolling Meadows FD Engine 15 calling CenCom, IDing TG as ____ Region Fire (7/14), RIDs 71100 and 71999 - T102 (8/16), RID 71692 (T149, 8/22/16), affiliated by Barrington FD? RID 71361 (T149, 8/16)- CenCom fire TG?
  • TG 1879 - CenCom fire TG?
  • TG 1880 - Site 115/149; T101 10/18/13
  • TG 1893 - Site 149 (5/26/15 RID 71093) Site 108 (6/2/15) - Barrington-Countryside FPD? CenCom? affiliated by BCFPD RID 71073 (8/16)
  • TG 1894 - Site 149 (10/18/13) - Barrington-Countryside FPD? CenCom?
  • TG 1895 - Site 149 - Barrington Countryside FPD? Encrypted (5/15) CenCom?
  • TG 1896 - Site 149 - Barrington Countryside FPD? Encrypted (5/15) CenCom?
None of these talkgroups have been identified by name, and I'd like to get them out of the SC21 wiki and into the database. Can anyone identify these talkgroups (and possibly others that might be in this general range that have not been discovered yet)?

I'm making a updated map of SC21. Would a P25 simulcast site be able to share another tower with neighboring county simulcast site?
Example: DuPage Simulcast, sharing a tower with a Cook South Simulcast tower,.

Yes. 126 and 149 share a tower at I-90 and Route 25. I'd be willing to bet it's pretty rare in actuality though.

What Im finding now is that Kane and DuPage share the tower on I-80 near Mitchell Rd, Aurora. I know conneticut's statewide system shares a few towers for there simulcast system. Just wasnt sure about SC21

Minor point, I think you mean I-88. I'd not noticed this before. It's interesting because that is the closest of the Kane County sites to me yet I get better reception on the Kane County frequencies than I do the DuPage County frequencies. You'd think they'd both be similar given they're equidistant.
