Talk groups 13063 and I believe 13064 have been used at the Illinois State Fair since Starcom 21 has been up and running, and will, (I assume) be used again for that purpose. Just fyi

Federal Interop Talkgroups

Are these used for Federal operations normally or just to interop with other police in the districts of the ISP. Because I have heard Federal police on the fed bands.

unfound channels in database

On Site 108 I have 3 channels I can't figure out that are not listed in the data base. Any info greatly appreciated. 12106, 65280, 65480. I'm trying to identify possible Barrington Area Fire 1891 but I don't get enough radio traffic yet.

No encryption, at least on the main channels.

Both.

North is Edens, South is Ryan, I-55, etc.

Don't remember which one gets the Ike/290 extension but I think it's North - someone correct me if that's wrong.

TG 1590 is in use by the Elgin Police Explorer post, they were helping with traffic control etc. at a concert at the Grand Victoria Casino this last weekend.

Correct. North covers Kennedy/Edens/Eisenhower (as far as Hillside/294, District 2 covers from Hillside all the way to Lake Cook Road), South covers Dan Ryan/Stevenson/Bishop Ford/I-57.

I have 1578 marked in Unitrunker as Elgin Police, not sure of the use.

On an unrelated note, I've been seeing Northwest Central's PD and FD dispatch talkgroups operating in Phase I FDMA mode quite a bit lately, not sure the reason. And as always, police is encrypted, fire is not. There appears to be a greatly reduced amount of TDMA traffic on 149 right now.

Since I got the pro197 up and running I can "see" the ENC TGs. I was wondering about that ,As EFD is 1550s and EPD is 1560s. But then I heard the Explorers on 1590. 1578 being Elgin would fit that scheme.

Hmmmm.... the usual reason for this happening would be if FDMA radios affiliates with those TGs. Any unrecognized RIDs?

TDMA gear is hella expensive, I've always wondered how they could talk neighboring agencies into buying APXs for mutual/auto-aid. Maybe they didn't!

I can confirm TG1585 in use in Elgin. It indentified as Parks channel.

Did anybody else hear this talkgroup today? I did not find it in the database. Talkgroup 5275.

I have noticed that some of the P25 phase2 TDMA groups have become receivable. The Northwest Central Digital within the Illinois Statewide has now become receivable and I own a HP-1 scanner.
I can now hear: Hoffmann Estates, Streamwood, Schaumburg, Arlington Hts., ..............all of a sudden.
Of course, the encrypted channels still are not receivable.

That simply means that a FDMA only subscriber radio affiliated to the talk group. Once the FDMA only/last subscriber(s) leave the TG it should revert back to TDMA

"menkes" are those two Elgin TGs 1585-1590 "ENC".....Also, do you have a discone on your house-roof, see one on a house when I visit my daughter in So. Elgin.....
