Glad to hear Canton Twp Fire being dispatched on MARCS. Their conventional repeater had terrible range. Next up on my MARCS wish list is Perry Twp. I get less than half of their traffic.

May consider dropping Canton Citywide, 45054, from the feed. All I hear is alot of boring chat from city service departments that ties up the feed from FD traffic.

Now they are going to Massillon Walmart. If it is Massillon Police, why do they have a 4th TG so far outa line with their other 3?

That's PD2 DISP W, and those are Massillon Police radio IDs. Odd that they used PD2 DISP W for the traffic though.

And, as far as "why", good question -- Why is Waynesburg PD dispatched on PD1 DISP W when Waynesburg is not in the West ?

Hard to say why they do the things they do.

I did not have that TG in my notes and it is not in database. Also, what do you make of the Dispatch Radio ID of 7600014? I have Red Center ID's as 1359 thru 1364.

The last time I saw RID 7600014 doing anything significant, it was some activity on 2-8-2019 on SO76 SPEC D. On 3-8-2019 they had a couple of transmissions on SO76 2. Then the activity yesterday was on MASS PD DISP. There were no voice comms by 7600014 on TG 45144, just an affiliation. And various radios affiliated with various talkgroups all the time and never actually transmit on them.

So 7600014 is some Stark Co Sheriff related RID. I'm not recording Stark traffic now, so I don't know what 7600014 was saying on MASS PD DISP.

Just a little praise here for this system. I love being able to sit on my porch and listen to damn-near the entire county in crystal clear digital with an antenna the size on my thumb. That is all.

Ditto on that. I will miss the analog days but for portability reasons it is so nice having it so clear.

I concur. Granted, I can't pick it up with a handheld here in Carrollton, but I like that I can monitor all the PS activity in Stark when I'm so inclined, using my external ant. It sounds great.

I want to ask the experts here .. (WS1065 and WIN500)
I guy on a facebook page told me to change the DWELL (not delay) but DWELL time from zero to 2000.
WHAT DO YOU FOLKS PUT THAT DWELL TIME AT? Should I increase it to 4000 or whatever and what does it do?
I have a friend that is bringing over a couple of homemade small directional antennas tomorrow. << Going to try that before I give up on this WS1065.
The frequencies I have input are all Stark and thought I would also input Marshallville control /alternate. I am west side of Massillon.
Stuck em all in there or should it only be the control channels?
Thank you !!

Posie777 you are wasting your time playing with Dwell Time. While there is no harm in playing with it. I go with the experts who designed the radio. Here is what they have to say -

CC Dwell Time:
This option determines how long the scanner will remain on an active control channel waiting for a talkgroup to become active. A setting of 0 (zero) will use information being transmitted on the control channel to determine when to move on. In most cases, the default setting will give you the best results.

Posie777 -

Two suggesstions -

1. Only use the Control and Alternate frequencies for MARCS Towers. Unlike a Harris System, MARCS does not use voice frequencies as control frequencies.

2. It has been suggested by someone out here that Control and Alternate frequencies should be listed in order of 88.xxxxx first and 7xx.xxxx second for your particular scanner. I have done that with mine but cannot honestly say that it improves reception.
