With the new system, these channels are no longer in service

Worcester Co/OC radios are gonna have the Delaware P25 TGs in their radios, and vice versa, right? No reason for a patch?
Heard a page went out system will be down temporarily today. Fire units told to go to 8-tac94. Might be a good day to listen to the 8tacs.
I heard the same in NCC. Is the entire system down state-wide? Gonna be a rough going from a couple dozen digital channels to four analog channels.

Also, how do the 8Tac repeaters work? Coverage is definitely worse compared to the digital system. I think the dispatchers rely on superior receivers to hear everyone county-wide, whereas the mobiles and portables can only hear transmitters within a relatively short range.

How are Worcester / OC units handled now when they enter Sussex? Their Harris subscriber cannot do SmartZone. If the call is close to the border, they could still operate on their home system and be patched to Sussex. I don't think that the Delaware P25 system is programmed into Worcester / OC subs yet.

The Ocean City / Sussex 'patch' is running today, both on Ocean City's system and the Delaware P25 system. It also looks to be "patched" to tg 223 - Sussex Fire 2.

More VFC company channels have been showing up on the Sussex site over the past few days; Interops as well.

I’m just curious are we submitting tall groups from the old system because we know the algorithmto to the database or we are actually seeing these talk groups popping up on the new system
Both, per official codeplugs and noticed behavior. The new system is following the formula to convert the old TGIDs to new TGIDs. Submissions are being made when new TGs come up and are using the conversion sheet/formula to assist in determining what those are.

The reason why I’m asking because a lot of the law-enforcement (DSP) talk groups are being deleted because they’re going to the LTE Network
Not sure where you heard that but There are no plans for DSP to move to LTE.

None of the APX6000 units that DSP is using are capable of LTE.

DSP TGs are staying and getting changed to AES encryption from DES which is the reason for PD in the clear on mutual aid and IOP channels right now due to issues with the switch

Correct. There are compatibility issues with police radios that do not have the proper options installed and licensing for AES - which is why the police are staying on the SZ system for now. There may be some radios deployed that have LTE and WiFi capabilities, but those modes would serve as a backup for voice-over-RF and primary for data. And remember that while a subscriber could theoretically use LTE for voice, other radios on the tg would continue to receive RF voice.

I'm seeing enough voice on NCC sites and affiliations on unitrunker logs to make many of the adds. Some TG's I/we will wait to see affiliations/traffic rather than the general formulaic cut-and-paste thus far.

Motorola and L3Harris have Smartphone apps that can access the radio network and function as a PTT subscriber. They are generally used by personnel who do not require an $8K subscriber radio: perhaps support personnel, local officials, etc.
