They gotta be building that out for more state agencies than just KSP. . . 6 Voice channels per site. Be so nice to pick their brain just to see what they have in mind, but I'm sure they won't be saying much.

They had a bad experience long, long time ago when someone hacked their system and was calling in bogus help calls. Ever since then, they've held cards very close to their vests.

6 RF channels per site is pretty standard for Motorola systems. The site equipment is referred to as a “6-Pack” and is shipped pre assembled from Motorola.

I recall at East Baton Rouge we had 9 channels for dispatch and one control channel, we had different agencies, DPW,Law Enforcement. Divided between East and West Baton Rouge Sheriff's, Pointe Coupe Sheriff, New Roads PD Baker and Zachary Police. We did not have encryption however certain divisions at EBRSO had the capability. Baton Rouge PD had their system .We never had interoperability until 2007 when we came on line with the State Police in Louisiana.
