P25 Linear Simulcast Modulation ASTRO

I think that ASTRO business is a Motorola feature dealing with digital trunking or some such. I saw that in the Louisville MetroSafe specifications when our system was bid around 2010 give or take.

I'm hearing MetroSafe just fine on my SDS scanners, and sort of okay on my x36 scanners. As long as E isn't involved, we should be okay.

CVE and F&W don't transmit all that much and I've never ever heard what might be an AG or ABC unit.

That really makes my point: CVE/FW talking to a KSP post dispatcher and ABC/AG talking at least once a month hardly justifies a 5-6 frequency trunked system. I'd think you'd need all the above plus Transportation Cabinet, Corrections, Emergency Management, several county sheriffs and a few cities to warrant a trunked system of this size. (Should the "local" users push the capacity limits, then their cost for system use is additional hardware for a voice frequency or 2/3.

In the TACN System when a user is added then the user is responsible for the system upgrade to add more capacity to the system.

Look inside battery, APX is made in Mexico or Malaysia as are many other items from Motorola. Hearing up to an added 6 months for radios coming out of factory, holding up many system upgrades these days

Wow I wonder if Harris is having the same problem with getting radios and new equipment I know have the statewide edacs in my home state Florida and most the counties with their phase 2 p25 and phase 1

I would be interested in knowing if Motorola is making more money off of this delay? In most Motorola contracts they have a prevision that gives them additional money if the contracts timeline is extended for reasons beyond Motorola's control, this would perhaps quality.

Work is being done this is not an overnight venture all sites in a district need to be installed and linked together with route backups before site testing can start. This will go on for all districts in Tn this took over 3 years bringing the state up in parts.
