I am going to guess the 1999 in his screen name reference to his birth year which adds up to impatience he shows in his online presence, love this new generation can't wait for the latest greatest, cry's about the fall out from the latest and greatest when it finally arrives!Scannerboy is in a great big hurry for the system to get up and running even after we in the west have heard encryption.
Of course and I mean that sarcastically.I’m not happy I think it’s dumb to encrypted everything that people have been hearing for years the public safety trying to be like public safety in Europe and other parts of the world
All LSP Troops and the majority of their talk group Id's are clear, NOT ENCRYPTED.I know when LSP went on line with their system, they basically left it up to each Parish( what you call County) to decide. Some went with full encryption other went partial, leaving the Coordinate Call, Interop talk groups clear. The Interops are where LSP can communicate to other State and Local agencies, statewide.
Everything I’ve been told is KSP is pushing encryption due to CJIS concerns.I know when LSP went on line with their system, they basically left it up to each Parish( what you call County) to decide. Some went with full encryption other went partial, leaving the Coordinate Call, Interop talk groups clear. The Interops are where LSP can communicate to other State and Local agencies, statewide.
DMARCS is not going away anytime soon. It’s a completely separate system run by a completely separate agency.I bet some of the encryption testing is for stuff they are going to move from DMARCS vhf system to the new system
