Noticed it northbound earlier today. Looks like a stop at Albany. Just watched it pass by me at 20k.

Nice tie-up Hop. Guess Fat Albert is back in service but haven't seen
any stories on it.. Navy/Marines were looking at buying a mothballed C-130J shorty from the RAF to replace it.

5pm local a flight of 4 aircraft Wardog CAP 11? holding for flyover of Naval Academy VFR.
Induction day at the Academy for Class of 2022.

1748Z ADS-B showing Cave 17 & Cave 72 doing tight orbits north of Hagerstown, just over the PA border at around 5500 ft.

I was watching those things too. At one point 72 had climbed up to 11k I think it was. They were active yesterday too. Rate of climb of 72 seems to indicate fixed wing.

Something else I noticed today was N948PH S-92A that had come up to DC from the Pax area. Flew through DC, up to Cabin John then around the Beltway back down 295/Anacostia, crossed the river at the WWB, then eventually down I95 past Quantico. Eventually it worked its way back towards Pax. Callsign was DOUBLEDOWN667 displaying DBDN667.

Maybe it's one they're using for testing prior to receiving VH-92s?
Supposedly they've got two S-92s they're testing.

Turns out N948PH has a recent history out of Pax. https://flightaware.com/live/flight/N948PH/history
Started using that callsign on 6/20. Been there since at least March.

Only a helicopter was used to chase violators (BOUNCER 1) on 260.9 yesterday.
I pretty sure it was a US Coast Guard helo. No fighters or tankers were ever airborne. I heard them chasing down a Cessna that wouldn't acknowledge the warning on 121.5

Just had the Netherlands AF KDC-10 over my roof at 2000ft inbound to Dulles. Why's it always have to be dark when the good stuff is right over top of me?

Couple USMC C-130s heading north, working their way through the weather. Hear them on 246.9
2000- Just got a good view of OTIS53/54 passing by at 16k. Heard them with PCT mentioning picking up VR704. Heading toward SLT VOR.
Not doing VR704 today, passed their time block. Maybe tomorrow, someone needs to get some low level work.

a couple of McGuire KC-10's.Potus in Europe next week.
