One note of caution. After trying the antenna today found it doesn't do too well on UHF freqs.

I read the description this morning; looks like it tops out at ~220MHz.

WARBIRD 03 and WARBIRD 04 both did a low approach at KFFO, then direct to FWA. Assume they must have been the spares.

Thanks for that. I was monitoring them working Winnipeg when they were eastbound as a flight of 4 and was wondering where those 2 ended up. Do you happen to remember the approximate time they were over KFFO ?

Since you're closer to the DC Area than I am was wondering about freqs for the 1st Helo guys. In the old days they used 141.7 (AM) & 292.2. Are these still valid?

Having worked only a quarter mile away from the airport during my last job (32 plus years and now retired), I can tell you they are still active.
Additionally you can add 343.000 AM mode as SEABEE - which is the command post and operational frequency for the C130s based there.

I need to dig through my notes for some more frequencies as well.
