My HF is filled with high noise level....awaiting new antenna to show up next week.

Terry, just curious, what are you getting for an HF antenna? In my house, MW and SW were absolutely useless due to all the RFI. I gave up listening until I heard about the MLA-30+ loop antenna. I bought one and put it on a tripod out in the yard. Poof!! All noise was drastically reduced or eliminated in some way and now I enjoy HF and MW again! I give all the credit to Gilles on OfficialSWLchannel on YouTube for enlightening me to this great (and inexpensive) antenna!!

Magnetic loop antennas are popular with many Ham ops in tight quarters.
Military uses them on vehicles etc :) I got a 50 foot GRV wire across my roof that doubles as Ham radio antenna.

I have a loop antenna sitting in the corner of my office here ... Wellbrook variety. I had it mounted on the pole in the front yard but years of weather conditions here have beat it up pretty good. It did work well but was going to mount in attic after refurbishment - unfortunately it will not fit through the attic opening. So it is holding up the wall in my office...LOL.

Waiting for the delivery of a Windom all band antenna. Plan is to run off a short tripod on the roof then run between two 40 foot poles on the corners of the back yard. The other leg of the antenna will run from the tripod to a post about 4 foot off the ground in the front yard. Short coax run to the Icom from the balun. Hopefully will eliminate most of the noise.

The main issue with this location is the weather. While the salt air can be a pain - the real killer is the winds. We had a front go through yesterday and it took until about 6PM this evening until the winds calmed down. Peak wind gust was 46 mph over the last 22 hours (since midnight EST) with average wind speed about 20 mph over the same period. Tough on equipment - especially the antennas on the roof.

22:00 EST Noble flight heading home - 285.400 and 281.450 - they were switched to 257.700 but had no contact for obvious reasons. Controller ended up keeping them on 285.400 - now switched to Washington Center on 293.225
Yeah they keep trying that 257.700 with no luck. Maybe someday..
NOBLE's worked late last night or parked up North for a while? Never seen working them so far after dark.

Did the Nobles go up to Nantucket today? I've been listening since 5:15 and haven't heard anything.
Ron have NOBLE-11 on tape FL-270 08:17 local. Seemed odd wasn't NOBLE-1 instead.but guess CAP is over
early this afternoon.
Currently looking at ADSB up there you see all kinds of small planes landing Nantucket...Maybe different CAP rules up there.
Guess cause they are on an Island CAP TFR does mention exceptions for regular Pax,cargo service up there.

Ron thought 353.950 was ZDC Super High. Not sure what 307.275 is except a ZDC freq.

Mark,

Maybe Noble 1 got held up for some reason and they sent Noble 11 up there first?

Thanks. A little strange--I usually hear them with the ATC controllers, Guess I missed them this time. Oh Well.

0910- As I was typing the above, Noble 1 popped up on 307.8 (ZNY Colts Neck). Nobles on 263.2. QSY'ed to ZDC Super High (307.275)>ZDC Cape Charles (236.825). Also working Ops (226.75). Both reporting as code 1. Noble 01 tells 02 to push to Aux 3 & Sat 1.

Not near radios at the moment but just had some fighters go overhead at altitude. Heard them but no visual

Not that we will hear anything but have to work on the SATCOM frequencies in case they are somewhere else besides CONR channels.

CFS Air LLC is just the "holding company" (there are a lot of them around the USA) that basically provides invisibility to the actual company or person using the aircraft. The Limbaugh family is probably still using the aircraft since it was registered back in 2008 per FAA / DOT data
just type in 1EB (without the N) in this link Aircraft Inquiry

Here is just an example of how CFS gets involved in things aircraft wise (link unrelated to N1EB) just for example.

Great! I hope that helps cure your problem Terry. It's worth a try! We get some pretty high winds here too. What I like about my MLA-30+ is that the loop is very thin and the winds blow through it with little resistance. It seems to be holding up well so far. (Fingers crossed)

I tried to offer $100 for the Andrews AFB HF Log Periodic antenna to the guys in this picture but they were not interested.
