1603z 15016 kHz getting a 20 character EAM broadcast.
1621z Now getting EAMs on 8992 and 11175 kHz.

Ed

Over the summer the local power company installed a new set power transmission lines about 50 yds behind my house. These are in addition to the power lines already about 100 yds behind my house.

I always had trouble with HF, but adding these new lines is really messing up both HF and even my FM radio,

The only way I can do HF reliably is to go online to an SDR

Ron, That is terrible! It's getting harder and harder in this high tech environment we live in today to keep the noise out. The noise at my location is terrible as well. Too many LEDs, computers, etc. I might invest in a MLA-30 loop antenna (Amazon.com: MLA-30 Loop Antenna Active Receiving Antenna 100kHz - 30MHz for Short Wave Radio: Home Audio & Theater) which has been proven to help in areas of high noise. I don't listen to HF too much but have been getting into it more lately. Right now, I'm just using a reel antenna out the window clipped to a tree. Too noisy inside the radio room to use the whip antennas. The best reception I've had recently was when we lost power for 18 hours. Not good for life in the house but GREAT for radio reception! What a night that was for me logging so many beacons and far away AM stations!

Rgr 11175 and 8992 are weak here but 15.016 booming! Daytime band :)
1209 local dedicate standing by for traffic. dedicate out.
Still have the old Icom R-75 which is connected to my HF Ham G5RV junior up across my roof.

1706z 8992 is the loudest here now, Mark. In the past 45 minutes I've logged 4724, 8992, 11175, 15016 here. Thanks for your report, much appreciated!
Rgr 8992 is usually best here especially in early evening but prob coming from Andrews so reflective take off is too
high here for now.. That 15016 sounds like next door.. Thanks for that one.

Couple of KC-10s eastbound out of Travis. BLUE 66, 83-0080 (ads-b AMPER 56) and BLUE 67, 86-0034 (ads-b 0000) routing over YAM. Looks like they are either going to stop in BGR or heading direct to maybe Moron ? edit - turned north so not BGR.

BLUE 66 and BLUE 67

Rgr being Presidents Day Holiday the CAP may be the only Mil action today Nationwide.
Dover has C-17 to Norfolk later today and a C-17 to Orland Norway Weds morning.
Im starting to wonder if they scrapped that Dyess B-1 mission to Norway.
