Ron, That is terrible! It's getting harder and harder in this high tech environment we live in today to keep the noise out. The noise at my location is terrible as well. Too many LEDs, computers, etc. I might invest in a MLA-30 loop antenna (Amazon.com: MLA-30 Loop Antenna Active Receiving Antenna 100kHz - 30MHz for Short Wave Radio: Home Audio & Theater) which has been proven to help in areas of high noise. I don't listen to HF too much but have been getting into it more lately. Right now, I'm just using a reel antenna out the window clipped to a tree. Too noisy inside the radio room to use the whip antennas. The best reception I've had recently was when we lost power for 18 hours. Not good for life in the house but GREAT for radio reception! What a night that was for me logging so many beacons and far away AM stations!Ed
Over the summer the local power company installed a new set power transmission lines about 50 yds behind my house. These are in addition to the power lines already about 100 yds behind my house.
I always had trouble with HF, but adding these new lines is really messing up both HF and even my FM radio,
The only way I can do HF reliably is to go online to an SDR
