Over the summer the local power company installed a new set power transmission lines about 50 yds behind my house. These are in addition to the power lines already about 100 yds behind my house.

I always had trouble with HF, but adding these new lines is really messing up both HF and even my FM radio,

The only way I can do HF reliably is to go online to an SDR

That’s horrible. Aren’t they required to mitigate RFI (at least where it impacts commercial bands...?)

I called them and complained but , of course, they denied that their power lines were causing my problem.

Maybe if they had placed the new lines at the same location as the old ones it wouldn't be so bad. But the new ones are right at the back of my yard, near my fence line.

Forgive me if this is better for a separate forum, but...

I'd like to pare down my CAP frequency lists so that I can exclude the ATC stuff I'm never going to hear anyway. So on the civilian air side other than the ZDC RCAG sites, anything I should include? I was thinking southern PA (so maybe some ZNY sectors).

According to the White House there are "weather concerns" that make fixed wing safer. I asked the question on Friday when they went up there.

KHGR has 600 ft ceiling today

Related to the weather, no Marine One in the sky today from Andrews, WH made a bad weather call on POTUS' return to DC, so he'll be motorcading back from Joint Base Andrews

When POTUS goes to Delaware for the fighters, I would put ZDC Woodstown (125.45/363.0), ZDC Swann (134.5/360.7), ZDC Dupont (132.525/307.25) Philly /D 317.55 & 319.5 & KILG A/D 124.35. During the last Delaware CAP I don't think any ZNY freqs were used.

However, it depends on where the CAP tankers are coming from. If from the north I would put in ZNY Kennedy (125.325), ZNY Yardley (134.6) ZDC Casino (127.7) ZDC Sea Isle (133.125).

If they come from west try ZNY Harrisburg (133.475) & ZDC Pinion (133.95). If from the south try ZDC Yorktown (120.75) ZDC Salisbury (120.975) ZDC Snow Hill (121.375) ZDC Brooke (126.875).
