2020 local RCH-524 C-17 #96-0002 just departed Bangor Eastbound but turning around over Bay of Fundy and looks to be RTB Bangor.

No IFE declared so far so just seems mech or mission scrap.

REACH 524 told Moncton Center on 123.9 that they had an issue with their 'fuel stuff'. They didn't 'declare' an emergency or volunteer any more information to share with the next sector, Boston Center, when asked.

RCH-504 C-17 #06-6164 Travis came East last night to Bangor and started out East but now coming
back South.Maybe Dover has more stuff for them or mech problems.
Next leg was supposed to be KBGR-EPRZ via ETARI-KUGUR for tanker.
RCH-504 sort of meandering Southwest at FL280 prob trying to burn off more fuel.

Doesn't look like he's heading for WRI or DOV. He's at FL280 over northern NJ now heading west. Going back home?
Update on his flight plan has him going to Wright Pat KFFO.Requested a pirep from there anyhow.
Maybe a chance to burn more fuel and that long runway out there.Earlier checked pirep on Dover and McGuire

U.S. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi leads a Democrat delegation on the latest surprise visit and photo op to Kyiv, Ukraine.

From NBC News:

"Those with Pelosi on the trip, which was not previously announced, included Reps. Jason Crow, D-Colo., Jim McGovern, D-Mass., Gregory Meeks, D-NY, and Adam Schiff, D-Calif.

"Reps. Barbara Lee, D-Calif., and Bill Keating, D-Mass., were also part of the delegation, though it was unclear if they made the trip to Kyiv."

The delegation left Andrews Friday afternoon on DC Air National Guard C-40C 02-0203 BOXER 45 and landed at Rzeszów–Jasionka Airport in Poland early Saturday morning local time.

Talk about a "cheesy" photo op. I'll bet the Ukrainians really liked taking time out from fighting for their lives to welcome this crew. Should've given them a rifle and sent them to front lines if they really wanted to help

Probably there on Putin's behalf to negotiate terms of surrender. Do they still use any of the HF frequencies on these travels, Remember years ago with the Mystic Star network you would hear all kinds of voice traffic on missions like this.

I've had the same question about the MYSTIC STAR network. Four decades ago it was active with phone patches, often concerning logistics like vans on arrival and seating arrangements at a state dinner. However, sometimes a senior government official would get a phone patch and offer very candid opinions on an unsecure circuit. Or, so a friend tells me. ;)

Is MYSTIC STAR still active? Do AF1 and the other VIP aircraft still maintain primary and secondary HF voice circuits?

I haven't heard a Mystic Star freq used in several years. The HF-GCS freqs (11175 & 8992 etc) are nowhere as "juicy" as they used to be. I haven't heard a phone patch in years. The level of traffic has decreased so much ON HF-GCS that they have stopped using several freq out of the allocated set.

Your ref to Mystic Star brought back some good memories:

8971 USB used t be very active with counter-drug, military MARPAT traffic, etc.

19131 USB used to be very active w/DEA flt activity in southern US & Central & South America

Those were the good old days of HF. :cry:

On Tuesday, May 3, President will travel to Alabama to visit a Lockheed Martin facility which manufactures weapon systems such as Javelin anti-tank missiles, which the Biden-Harris Administration is providing Ukraine.

The President's arrival and departure will be from Maxwell Air Force Base, with estimated arrival at 11:30 AM CT
Est. AF1 Departure: Tuesday, May 3rd 4:00 PM CT and departure at 4:00 PM CT.
