That's a new callsign for me; I thought they used NAVY 375 most of the time. I see they also used GSBRD recently, any idea what that was?

EDIT: Looks like since ETD Hawaii changed to VR-1 Det. Hawaii, they may be using PACBIRD as their new call. GSBRD may have been a reception error since it looks like it appeared during a flight as PACBRD.

Does anyone know if VR-1 has a callsign other than NAVY? I had RACER on my list but I think I made an error because that was used by Army Gulfstreams.
Jared

Pacbird was new to me as well. Pacific version of the Europe Catbird call?

Only other VR-1 call I have is PIRANA back from when they flew C-20's

MA ANG F15s SLAM 1 (x2) working Viper this morning. A-A UHF they mentioned giving HUNTRESS a call on SATCOM for a check, first on C9 then C42. Not sure what SATCOM frequencies those are ? Anyone know ?

C42 is probably 294.325u/260.725d, that's CONR-2. The F-16s have their radios set up like this:
41 = CONR-1
42 = CONR-2
43 = CONR-3

Not sure about C9. I suppose it could be CONR-1?

Thanks. CONR-1 makes sense I guess, when they were talking about it one asked the other who should we call first 9 or 42, the other replied 9 first and they will tell us what to use, then a few minutes later I heard the second calling switching to 42.
I had MUDDY-41 flight F-16's in CAP last week using CONR-2 as he called it but uplink was 297.525 L+C talking to his Ohio base.
Obvious was all digital transmission but mentioned that was who he was gonna call.They did the same last year on CAP mentioning CONR2
and again was 297.525 uplink.. Maybe the freqs have changed as posted below on this old list.

AN-124 ADB3273 just made a distinct racket flying over my house on the way out of Dulles. Heard it and was like yeah that's not one of the usual flights.
Was just watching this AN-124..

Rare these days AN-124 departing KIAD for Shannon tonight. Tail is UR-82027.
Flightaware has blocked specific tails from being tracked but no problem showing flight # to Shannon as their next dest.
I bet photogs will be out in force over there in the morning.

I looked it up and it looks like they will actually be operating at Braden Airpark (N43) as opposed to Lehigh Valley.

Hard to say what they will be using without knowing which unit will be flying. The bands you'll want to scan will be 30-88 (usually 30-50 is most common) and 225-380.
