Earlier this morning had VTANG F35s CRAZY and BUICK working in Viper. One mentioned trying to call the Range on AUX22 and AUX72, had no joy on either. I have 22 as 244.500 but don't know what 72 is ? Maybe 226.800 ? Anyone ?

At the same time the F35s entered Viper there was a C441 N87WS that entered as well operating VFR at 14500. The F35s pointed it out to each other as "Stranger Traffic" a few times. Strange flightpath for the Cessna if it was doing surveys ? Seems like they were specifically in Viper East and an odd coincidence it was during the same time the F35s were in there too ?

SAM 152 odd they are down low at FL220 all the way from Ramstein.

It is odd. They stopped in Keflavik for gas. It looks like they took one of the Blue Spruce routes that allows you to fly over the North Atlantic with a degraded long range navigation system in (what was formerly called) MNPS airspace. Also, the fact that they flew below the altitude floor of MNPS suggests the possibility that they did not meet the requirement for operative CPDLC and ADS-C.

However, the item 10 and item 18 entries on the gobbledygook ICAO flight plan below indicate to me that there was no problem with the navigation or overwater communications.

So, my guess once again is some other Minimum Equipment List item that gives an altitude restriction like the passenger oxygen system inoperative that I cited earlier.

In the past the military used lax dispatching rules for passenger flights, including VIP missions, and the planes didn't have cockpit voice recorders or flight data recorders. A lot of this changed after the 1996 CT-43A (Boeing 737) crash in Croatia with U.S. Secretary of Commerce Ron Brown on board. There were no survivors in the crash.

From Ben Orchard's satcom site acars.adsbexchange.com, here is the ICAO flight plan filed on the ETAR-BIKF leg for SAM 152:

Just had JENA1 (N874TW) 757-223 land at PSM and park at the guard ramp around 12PM. Definitely a new one for me and I'm having trouble finding information on this aircraft. I know it's part of the DOJ but I have no idea what mission it completes. Anyone know?

Any mission the FBI wants, JENA is usually a FBI call.

N874TW is one of two DOJ B-757-200s (N119NA is the other one) based in Richmond, Virginia. They are associated with the FBI's Hostage Rescue Team in Quantico, Virginia. N874TW normally flies as JENA ONE, N119NA as JENA TWO.

On short notice callouts like the synagogue shooting in Colleyville, Texas back in January, the HRT takes helos from Quantico to Richmond to board the planes, weather permitting.

By tradition, the HRT doesn't carry handcuffs. ;)

1413- Scan 04 (CRJ-7 N804X NGTF) trying to contact Giantkiller (135.225/238.1/249.8). Contacts GK on 249.8 to coordinate entry into the Atlantic Test Track. Then works Echo Control (320.45) for the Test Track for 1 hour. Was told by GK that there is a BombEX scheduled for an unid offshore area. Advised by Echo to stay above FL100.
