Four groups of UH-60's passed through central KY today. A group of 5 then two groups of four. The last group originated near Albany NY according to ADSB tracking, they all landed in Lexington then proceeded to Nashville.

The first group was using 45.0 MHz for A/A then 30.100 for the second. I was unable to locate the last groups A/A.
They were talking about some pretty insane stuff as usual just like the Pat flight pilots on 123.400 at night.
I am in disbelief of some of the things I hear these guys talking about A/A on cross country flights.

Thanks in your post for not posting details on their conversations.. Been listening to many of them for over 20 years
here and I am always Thankful for their service to the Country in the tough, sometimes boring jobs they do.
I prefer some occasional gung-ho salty dog confidence in our crews then robotic PC correct crews.
They signed up to do the tough jobs for us and if they get a bit crazy, salty in their A/A topics.. Good for them!
You should have heard the old ex VMFA-321 F/18 guys at Andrews A/A some years back.. Wow but they were Marine Corp
Hot Dogs that you want in a combat team :)
BTW assume those low band 45.0/30.1calls were FM mode?

I believe in Central Kentucky during the night most of the profane chatter heard on 123.4 comes from Air Cargo Carriers, Inc. pilots flying their Short SD330 and SD360 turboprop freighter aircraft. The radio callsign is NIGHT CARGO, ICAO code SNC. They go into the UPS hub at Louisville before midnight, sit through the sort, and depart in the wee hours of the morning.

It varies from night to night but sometimes the NIGHT CARGO folks cuss up a storm and wax politically incorrect about people and issues at the stations, hotels and bars along their route system.

The Army PATTON King Airs also use the freq but they are relatively civilized from what I've heard. In the clip below two planes inbound to Fort Knox engage in a little pilot gallows humor about a crash landing, some Monty Python and about requesting holding and a full instrument approach on a clear night.

That's interesting. I'll have to keep an eye out for those night cargo folks but every time I hear the crazy stuff on 123.400 there's a couple of pat flights in the area, usually taking off or landing at Knox.. At the same time I've never studied on ADSB for the other aircraft you're talking about.
Based on the certain .milair chit chats on A/A freqs I've heard multiple times I've always believed it was .mil on 123.4.
You should have heard what the helo pilots were talking about. We could always PM if you're interested in what I heard.

yeah Mark all VHF Lo A/A I've monitored is in NFM mode

You should have heard what the helo pilots were talking about.

Almost all of the pilots in the other services are commissioned officers but the Army has some hybrid officer/enlisted grade called a warrant officer.

Some of these folks make even Navy pilots look urbane. ;)

Of course, Navy pilots do maintain some modicum of civility when compared to Marine Naval Aviators.

Here's a famous scene from the O'Club at MCAS Beaufort, South Carolina.

'You are going to see a floor show the likes of which will make Marine Corps history!'

In Rockville MD, I often see flights of 2-3 Blackhawks pass my house. Sometimes several flights per day. I can hear them on Washington Helo (134.35) identify as PAT## and request routes to/from Cabin John to the Pentagon. Anyone know if these flights are using similar low VHF nfm frequencies for A/A as discussed above? (Or happen to know where they are going north of Rockville? Camp David? Site R?)
