14256- Have two acft "2" & "1" chatting on 319.4 about cargo loads. Probably Viking 01 (C-5 # 69-0024) & Viking 02 (85-0005) currently transiting our area heading northeast. Both Vikings departed from John Glenn Airport in Columbus OH.
Rgr Ron saw both of these depart Dover this morning as a pair.Kind of rare for C-5M's to pair up like that
on training mission.C-5M #69-0024 the only C-5A converted to M standards doesn't get out often.
Seems they use it for mostly short training runs anymore.Seemed like a special paired cargo run/training today.
They were last seen heading Northeast.. Seems on replay this afternoon they both went into Cape Cod Coast Guard Air station and still there.
Bet that was a sight to the locals.

A friend who commanded the 72nd Test and Evaluation Squadron at Whiteman AFB says there was a push in the initial development of the B-2 to make it single-piloted. The argument was successfully made that the two-man rule for nuke weapons required the second pilot. I believe that initially the B-2 had no autothrottles and the engine indicators were crude LCD digital displays. A kludged tablet-like flat panel engine indicator was later added to give visual cues like needle movement as engine power changed.

STEAM 41 was AR 276.500 with NINJA 21 BTV F-35s x2, the only F35s heard. When chatting with the tanker NINJA apologised for the Florida guys not showing up, said they were down from 6 to 3 due maintenance issues. The T-45s RTB back to Griffiss.
