Just a heads up to all the regulars here, in this Tuesday's Scanner School podcast hosted by @w2lie there were a couple of aviation questions and Phil mentioned this thread as a good source of information. Again, it will be publicly released on Tuesday, Patreon supporters get a link to listen to it a few days early.

The US Air Force has grounded its fleet of F-35 jets temporarily, citing a potentially faulty component in the ejection seat that could endanger pilots in an emergency.

Which makes us wonder how Navy / Marine jets are doing. Do the ejection seats use different parts? The AF just got a bad batch of parts?

Thanks
Joel

Was inspection only of Martin-Baker ejection seats for possible defects..
Some of the headlines on inspection of them were way over the top.
Seat worked fine when that RAF F-35B stalled and crashed a while back while departing Carrier :)

Seems a heads up some ROMA tankers to EGPK Prestwick for RTB of the Vermont 158th FW F-35's Tuesday.
So far have logged ROMA-01 KC-10 #85-0030 departing McGuire soon.
Also look for ROMA-11,12,13 KC-135's.I think that the 158th Fighter wing had 8 total F-35A tails in Europe.
Easy hop from Scotland to New England :)

ROMA 12 is in holding near Wichita to burn off enough fuel to get down to a landing weight. They say they will need to hold for an hour to burn off the fuel. Does the KC-46 have fuel dump capability? The Air Force skipped some other luxuries like thrust reversers to reduce maintenance costs.

I believe almost all civilian 767s have fuel dump installed but some operators, for example Air Canada, disabled it to cut costs.

ICT Approach audio clip below from LiveATC.
