Looks like this plane is being ferried back to Andrews with only the crew onboard. We'll see if this is a plane swap with C-32A 99-0003 so SECSTATE can come back to Washington in style. Now, about those carbon credits... ;)

2010 local Odd Civy airline divert Swiftair 9788 from Ottawa to NC comes up on 129.900 "Airinc LaGuardia"
asks you guys looking for us? Next thing you know they are diverting to Buffalo..

They told ATC (ZDC 133.975) they had to divert because of a problem with their customs paperwork. Dispatch - D'oh. My WAG is it was an NHL charter that took the Bruins to Ottawa then ferrying the aircraft to Raleigh to get either the Hurricanes or the Predators ? LiveATC Audio

On departure QUAKE 71 checked on with ZMA (135.600) as a flight of 5, followed by QUAKE 81 as a flight of 2. Mission lasted almost 7 hours. On the return the 5 QUAKE 71s split off into 2 groups with the 2 KC-46s in one and the 3 KC-135s in the other. QUAKE 81 returned as the 2 KC-135s. They ran the same type mission on the 15th as well.

Checking the LiveATC MIA Approach tape QUAKE 81 actually returned as a flight of 5 (KC-135s), and QUAKE 71 checked on as a flight of 2 (KC-46s). It didn't sound like they were dragging anyone ?

This short track on flightaware shows QUAKE-73 headed out in the afternoon.Your right in was a fairly long mission.
Homestead F-16's on a deployment? Some Tyndall F-22's went South Feb 7th to train.

When they departed it didn't sound like either QUAKE flight was dragging anyone and didn't hear ZMA working any fighters. Both flights were cleared direct to DAAST and the ZMA high controller asked QUAKE 71 to confirm "they were going to the TRACY ALTRAV out in the Ocean".

Looks like the TRACY ALTRAV will be active again on the 20th (0800am to 1100am EST).

Yes, it's definitely SCORPION Ops. The VT ANG F-35's usually exclaim "STRIKE!" at the end of their comms with Ops. I think @mdmonitor is probably correct that STRIKE is the SOF operating on that frequency.
Thanks for the clarification yow777. Makes sense to me why there's two callsigns. Just wonder why SCORPION? Paying tribute to their old squadron name from the old days?

"They sported the Green Mountain Boys nickname on the tail and a new symbol for a new mission on the fuselage, the Yellow Scorpions. The yellow scorpion patch is a heritage emblem/tribute to the WWII Squadron which helped found the 158th Fighter Wing."
