"They sported the Green Mountain Boys nickname on the tail and a new symbol for a new mission on the fuselage, the Yellow Scorpions. The yellow scorpion patch is a heritage emblem/tribute to the WWII Squadron which helped found the 158th Fighter Wing."

wbagley, Thanks for sharing that freq. I didn't have it and will monitor it now.

from this article.....

After this pass, both NASA aircraft returned to Jacksonville. The DC-8 Mission Scientist was able to successfully receive satphone calls from the P-3 and to place and receive satphone calls with the Jacksonville Operations Center. The DC-8 Mission Scientist experienced difficulty in making radio contact with the P-3. One successful communication effort was made from the DC-8 to the P-3 after the science communication frequency was changed from 122.925 to 123.175. <--------

They told ATC (ZDC 133.975) they had to divert because of a problem with their customs paperwork. Dispatch - D'oh. My WAG is it was an NHL charter that took the Bruins to Ottawa then ferrying the aircraft to Raleigh to get either the Hurricanes or the Predators ? LiveATC Audio

Couple of things - most likely some issues on their customs paperwork and the Columbus Blue Jackets (who they transport are playing in Buffalo tomorrow). So dispatch probably rerouted them based on fleet schedule issues. They started out with two 737-400 aircraft and have grown considerably over the past 10 years. I handled the wheels and brakes for the airline until I retired in August of 2020. They now have a mix of 737 types from -300 -400 to -800 and they fly passengers and freight.

Feb 5th..
I see KC-10 79-1946 60th AMW using the REALM callsign currently. There must be something more to the callsign.
See a REALM69 tanker off Orlando airport maybe chasing the E-4B LOKI-82 NW Bound at FL260.
Maybe ACC has replaced SPUR callsign with PICO and REALM?
