Guys,

Boy---you'll be busy this weekend. News item says Obama, Clinton, Carter, Bush Sr & George W will attend Sat funeral for Ted Kennedy

News also reporting that Tropical Storm Danny should also be hitting the area this weekend.

Good luck and good listening..

Did anyone catch more of last night's exercise after I quit? I'm just wondering if the F-16s ever participated or if it was restricted to the Coast Guard helos.

Not much this morning. About a third of the log so far contains aircraft heard last night after midnight before I shut the system down.

SAMs

Guys,

I would expect to see quite a few SAM flts this weekend up to Boston for the Kennedy funeral. All the politicians will be trying to get some face time---be seen on the news bytes---attending the "Lion"s funeral.

1043 EDT--Just had some chat on 288.00 AWAXS discrete---ftr flt ??? 13 thanked them for the work and the AWACS (no call noted) said they were headed home--to Tinker I presume.

Ron, that's the primary freq for that AR track that runs from offshore Patuxent up to W-107. It's the track I've heard them call "Blue 24" a couple of times now. One of them specifically called it the "Blue 24 refueling track." I often hear fighters working at the Pax ranges shoot out to a tanker using that freq.

Raven call

1129 EDT- Raven 11 (MD ArNG helo)-w/Phillips tower (126.15) reporting they are off of Weide AAF inbound for local work at Phillips AAF. NOTE: Raven is new callsign for MD ArNG helos.

Could hear the rotors in the background. First time I've heard them use anything other than Guard #### in years. When they were flying the AH-1s they used callsign Sabre #### but that went away along with the AH-1s.

Pioneers

Tin,
Mark,
Travis

According to Flightaware both Pioneer 336 and Pioneer 831 are active today at PAX---both id as H-60s---prob SH-60s.

Also had Score 53 working as a tanker with SD104 & SD326. So Score 53 is one of the KC-130Js.

Mark, that's the one I changed in my database because it always displays 16339500 in the callsign block for the past year and a half - including today. That same hexcode used to come up and display 16388400 in that block but it was near the end of 2007 (13 Nov 07) the last time he showed that.

I have SCORE 52 (AE03C0) showing on the log from BuNo 160627 at that time Ron. Could be the same aircraft you heard as 53. It's identified in my database as a KC-130 from VX-20. I also had a SCORE 23 on the log just a bit earlier but that is unidentified and goes with that AE1DF0 hex we've all seen recently. In addition to those two, I logged 166473 (AE1195), a KC-130J from VX-20 in the 1100 hour.

And I guess RadioReference thought your Danny alerts were important so they sent me four emails containing that message. :)

I would think they'd use N541PB.

That's not anything you did...RR obviously had indigestion and regurgitated it a few times. Besides...why are we spending all those resources chasing a summer storm that isn't expected to be a hurricane? (Nevermind...I think you know why.)

Unknown AE08EA displayed TITUS26 so that ought to be a VR-53 KC-130 right? libhomeradar lists that as UH-60L 93-26479.

Hoist 93 Calling on 132.05

Heard Hoist 94 on from Woodstown, NJ today on 132.05 AM trying to raise Harass62 and have them go to 370.92 or 269.42

I thought 132.05 was listed as ZDC Smyrna. Is this normal for them to be calling like that on Center freqs?

Please pardon my ignorance, as I am very very new to this area of the hobby.

Thanks
