All I can say is...WOW

07/22/12
1911 local- DISTORTED with an EAM on 311.0

WOW is a mild response to this mistake! I know this airport some and the location well. TIA/TPA is the general control tower for these airports in the Tampa/St. Pete area and someone was asleep at the switch on this one, including the pilot of the C-17. Unless that is, he never flew into or out of MacDill. If they had looked at the maps they would have seen Tampa International and St Pete/Clearwater airports easily from any altitude above 500 feet as well as MacDill.

They're also lucky that one of those Cessna planes wasn't on that runway at the same time.

07/29/12
1251 local- Sounded like SNOW BIRD XX on 350.3 passing through ZNY. Hard to understand. Couldn't make out the numbers. Audio was muffled and I thought there was a slight accent.

AF1 now enroute to NYC. 134.5

58-0089 RCH1107 landed at Dulles about 1505. I was on my way home from work and did a doubletake when I saw it.

Guys,

0807 EDT- Brave flt (2 X F-16s, 121st FS DC ANG ADW) w/Huntress (139.7) & Bay Watch (270.8) working practice intercepts oniscrete freq (310.55) w/Civil Air Patrol Cessna 182T (CAP 4529) in the PAX restricted area R-4005. CAP 4529 w/BW (119.275),

After the exercise CAP 4529 advised Bay Watch that he would be landing at Cambridge. Not sure if that is his home base or he was just dropping in there because it was close by.

I get them time to time. I'm pretty sure that's his home base.

2110 local- Breaking news sources saying 2 fighters intercepted at passenger jet and are escorting back to Logan Airport due to a suspicious package on board. If any one up north is hearing any thing. I'm getting very weak comms on 228.9 but can't really make it out.

SLAM 31, shortly after the intercept, lost all instruments and declared an IFE. SLAM 32 stayed with him all the way back to Barnes. They allowed SLAM 31 to land and SLAM 32 switched to Bradley Departure to stay clear until the runway could be cleared. I was having a hard time hearing HUNTRESS on 228.9, I can usually hear the Boston area transmitter quite well, but with the rain, it was real tough to copy all around.

I had my local milair bank temporarily locked out because I was working on my Vegas milair system for an upcoming trip :-((
