They're practicing touch-and-gos on the assault runway at Lakehurst. Lots of tankers and cargo jets from around the northeast practice on this short runway in preparation for the short battleground landing strips in the middle east.

Guys,

Need some help.

1548- Little Bird (unid)- w/ground stn Motor/Rotor TC on dfiscrete freq (123.4) advising they are curently restricted to alt 6,000 ft and will call when they reach their planned alt. At 1532 Little Bird advises TC that they have acquired the signal (NFI)

I can heard both sides so they must be quite close to me---I'm near BWI Airport. Anyone got anything on their SBS boxes that might be these guys. I'm guessing that Little Bird is some sort of light acft/helo and he has an extremely clear xmitter.

Been hearing these guys nightly for months on 255.7 testing video and data links. Sometimes you can hear the props in the background.

Also MDMONITOR's post (2 of his posts up) ref to the WARLOCK callsign. This call was associated with the navy/army blimp testing out of Lakehurst last year. An article I read interviewed one of the airship pilots who mentioned their callsign "Warlocks" and showed their unit's patch "the Warlocks". I think they're based out of PAX.

I just happen to find one of the articles:
First Navy Airship In Years Unveiled at Lakehurst - Government - Berkeley, NJ Patch
