I am in the middle of building a codeplug. I came across North Carolina Bridge also known as the 440 Net Talk Group for NC but TG440 is also the Talk Group for Japan?

I am new to DMR...

I am a bit confused because Japan & the NC 440 net uses the same talk group?

I'm creating a Zone for North Carolina as I used to live there so it be nice be able to reach the areas I lived.

I've got the following...

North Carolina - State Wide TG3137 Slot 1
Eastern NC TG31373 Slot 1
NC Regional TG3174 Slot 2
Catawba Valley TG31678 Slot 1/Slot 2
NC Weather TG27507 RX only
NC Chat 1 TG27501 Slot 1/Slot 2
NC Chat TG27502 Slot 1/Slot 2
NC TAC TG31379 Slot 1

I know of the well known Brand Meister and the Phoenix network, What other networks are there?

"North Carolina bridge" might be the NCPRN system. There are all sorts of different networks depending on your location. Some large worldwide ones like brandmeister and other state or local area ones.

At one time there were at least 4 amateur radio DMR networks operating in Indiana alone. Some mighty bad blood between those groups, too.

Interesting so I could have two hotspots setup, one for Brandmeister and one for the NCPRN system... would that be possible to do, having two hot spots setup on the same router, or would that cause conflict?

Its something I may do in the future if that is possible to have two systems.... for now I'll stick with Brandmeister while I learn more about it.

NCPRN is a closed system, no hotspots or networking out side of the system. Anyone that adds a repeater must have the appropriate Motorola equipment to add to the system.

If using Pi-Star for a hotspot, you can add multiple networks to a single hotspot, you end up adding another number to the TG to tell it X network. See this article: Jeff VE6DV, Author at AmateurRadio.com.

If you do want 2 hotspots, one for each network, you can without an issue, just use a different CC and frequency for each (try 2-3MHz apart min.) and you won't have issues.
