Update the FCC grants more often. I have seen many times where the FCC has new licenses when RR hasn't even done a recent FCC update. Makes me go back and forth between the two and see what is going on with a particular area or system.

Update the database more often. I've seen several times people submit info to the database only to have it sit in the submission que for days at a time.

Yes I understand you all volunteer, but you should have had an understanding what you were undertaking when you signed on.

This site isn't any good without recent updated clear data.

Thanks to all of those that submit and help keep it running.

I would like to see a sorted list of counties in a specific state in recently updated order similar to the list of all trunked systems in a state. The colors are good for indicating recent changes to counties in a state and the home lists all counties in the US. That way I could see all counties that have changed in the last month or two months, etc. in a specific state. Seems like a relatively simple report.

Here's a few suggestions:

1) How about increasing the number of systems & counties Premium members can watch.
2) have downloadable CSV or EXCEL files(these woud be good for traveling when you might not have access the internet.
3) Give new members 2 weeks of Premium features for free, it might get them to upgrade to Premuim member status.
4) When a trunked system is updated the TG's are highlighted, but when a site is changed nothing is, so highlight ALL changes.
5) Have a SUGGESTIONS FORUM, there is one on another site that I go to and it works great!

Request for more detail on history

When a database admin adds a new talkgroup the history only shows the talkgroup was added. I know that the new items shows green and then brown for a while but for someone that only checks the database on a monthly basis it would be nice to be able to select an event in the history and to see what talkgroup was added when.

thanks,

Doug

on why the database submitted data takes time to be posted, most of us admins take the time to verify the submitted info. So yes it can take some time. But we do try to get it posted as soon as we can.

Specialty Pages

I would like to see large agencies (e.g. LAPD, LAFD, LASO, CHP, NYPD, FDNY, etc.) have their own special pages in the database. These pages would have all the same data as the rest, but more specific items such as detailed maps, radio codes, radio site map/locations, unit number assignments, department logos (if allowed), pictures, web links, user suggestions on the best monitoring techniques, user input on best propagation data, more detailed description of channel designation data, more detailed information about department unit or patrol activities and assignments, etc.

Also, I would like to see a Federal category. Currently, federal frequencies are listed in each state, which is fine. However, I would also like to be able to go to a Federal page that has all the federal listings no matter what state (or location). This is true because many (or most) federal agencies have frequencies that are used on a nationwide basis, as well as a regional basis.

And one more for the road: as much as possible, listings could have a link to the Long/Lat (or GPS) data that would take you to Google map (or similar map site).

Hopefully these are not just a pipe-dream and others will see the potential in these suggestions. There is much more here that can be explored.

Respectfully submitted.

I know it was mentioned before a number of times already, but I have to say clickable maps would make the database alot better for me.This would come in especially handy when going on vacation and you don't know the names of the surrounding counties, but you can see them on the map!

I would like to see the amount of systems and counties increased for subscribers.

Agree with the trunked system site highlights as well.

Clickable county maps.

email alerts for updated counties/systesm (if possible)

I like the idea of a feedback forum too!

- Clickable county maps

- Require less characters (currently 10 are required) for a reply. If I want to enter a shorter reply (EXAMPLE: Wow! or Neat!), I have to find extra things to put in it so it will be acceptable. Why cant the minimum be shortened to say 3 characters?

Thats all for now that I can think of.

RR Calendar...

Since the only things that seem to be on the calendar are our birthdays, how about some birthday presents !!!

...or...

How about an RR Contest. Prizes could be a trial membership, a magazine subscription maybe some retailers could offer some products as Grand Prizes.

My understand is that's exactly why the level is set higher. Lindsay wants more substantial comments than "Wow! or Neat!".

The current database is awesome, especially when using the web import feature of some of the programming software. With that in mind it would be nice to have that functionality tied to possibly the official marine frequencies and ARTCC frequencies. They might fight in the 2 blank spaces on the database main page.

Put the date of the last FCC grants update on each FCC grants page.
