The only thing I would like to see at this point is an increase in the number of watched trunked and county systems. This is one of the most useful options on this board and it would be nice to be able to watch all or most of my programed systems. Thank you

I've always desired the ability to have a black background with bright lettering - the ability to invert the way it is now - kind of like "batblack" on batlabs. The bright background is like stairing into a lamp.

Thanks.

I wouldn't mind seeing a spell checker. I'll be the first to admit, I need it.

Could you put the link to FF 2.0 please?

If it is "Bon Echo," that program messed up my FF and I had to unistall everything (including Windows Registry items) and reinstall FF 1.5 to get FF working again.

As I mentioned in another thread, the ability for the admins responsible for a given area to be notified of any updates submitted to that part of the database would be really nice. I.e. if someone sends something for the province of Alberta, I (have the ability to) get an email telling me of that.

Global (and possibly local) admins would have the ability to turn this on or off for any particular area they wish to cover.

While I'm here, bug report for the forums: If your first post to a thread is a quick reply, even if you have email notifications set by default, sometimes you don't get email notifications.

Seperate forums for major models. For example, there are huge threads for the PRO-96, BCD996T, BCD396T, etc that are too unwieldy to use but have an enormous collection of information. Would be much easer if you could go to the "PRO-96" forum and look for the thread titled "Nothing to Scan."

I'd like to see a way to attach a comment to any TG listed in a trunked
system entry, in a separate table. This would be like a footnote table.
There would have to be some limitations, to prevent long-winded types
from overdoing things.

For example, special-event talkgroups may be used for a short time,
then dropped, and possibly reused the next year. Some of these are
self-explanantory by their name, others are not. The timeframe would
be useful so people would know when to expect activity the next time
around, or hearing nothing, to start looking elsewhere.

When I am in the databse I don't get notification of PM's or new submissions to the database... it would also be cool to have notification of new submissions when browsing the forums as well....

thanx for an awesome site!

Web Service!

Implement the web service with WSDL so I can write .NET apps that can intelligently connect to the service. (I messed with this a long time ago, so apologies if this has since been implemented.)

How about downloadable PDA files!!!!!?
How about them? You apparently have not checked what you get with your subscription.

deleting you own post if you double click etc !!
Landon, that will never happen. It used to be allowed, but was abused, so now users cannot delete a post and can only edit for a short time. This is to stop people from "altering history". The key here is to review what you post before you submit it.

Man this thread has went on for pages I believe some should go back to the original post, one post per person and I believe this would include Database Admin people I think there is a lot of great ideas here, so lets end this banter and impalement some of the great ideas brought up here that should keep this web site owner bizzes for years, and I do like the idea of a page just about FED. stuff.
My one post on this thread as asked "on the 1st post".

You are correct, I saw PDF when you had typed PDA; however, the answer is much the same. Remember, there isn't much that can't be had on a PDA than can be had on a PC, you may not be able to do everything with it on a PDA but... If you have something specific in mind, articulate.

  • You will note that I have not made a suggestion, just pointed out where previous suggestions are either already implemented or won't be and why.
  • Look on the RR Wiki for your Federal stuff.
