For myself, the real weed makes it a bit worse, but at least it makes me not care about it 😃
Understood, if you have terminal cancer and and have had all the radiation and chemotherapy you can have, marijuana is not going to keep you from dying but.. it'll, make you feel a lot better about the fact that your time is up. Not unlike morphine and Ativan.

All the research I've done shows that real marijuana does not treat tinnitus but it can certainly help you feel better about having it🙂

Your brother should seek out someone like the DAV to help. Tinnitus is one of the most clamed and approved disabilities
Took me 3 months and I got it at 10%
My experience was similar, but I just went to the nearest Veterans Service Officer (VSO) and they took over. If I recall correctly, the process to file the claim and get my 10% was significantly shorter than the analysis portion conducted by the VA--several visits for tests and interviews.

I'm on Metaprolol, no difference either way. I still remember being in the hospital waiting to get discharged and the nurse saying you can't put the IV antibiotic in faster, as it might cause ear ringing. Back story, went in Oct 1 22 and admitted for pneumonia and AFIB. ICU, 2 weeks, one more up a floor. The idiot home nurse in charge of my 1 week of home IV meds was a idiot I guess, and told me I could crank up the drip. Pretty sure that's what made it like it is now.

I made it through listening to stereo equipment at insane sound levels (I sold the stuff) without a problem. I went to probably about 150 or more nitro Funny Car and Top Fuel races over the years, and had no issues. I still had exceptionally good hearing. At about 40, I could still hear to 20KHZ with my right ear, my left ear was down to 17KHZ from being "Gussed", my dog Gus would bark insanely loud while in the back seat of the car. With the windows up, it was like a gun going off next to my left ear, and actually hurt, a lot. But I had no real issues until I got a really bad ear infection and since then, my right ear has slowly become useless, and on top of it, it has hissing, a "Cicada" type noise that goes with my pulse, and the most annoying one, a high pitched squeal. All of them can be stopped for a while by simply holding my nose and "popping" my ears. Right now, it's hissing time. I popped my ears and all is silent for about 20 minutes.

I would be happy as hell to just live with it to get him back again:

It then resembles more of pink noise, that are often recommended over white noise that have more high frequency energy and can be irritating.

I also prefer bubbly water to not take away anything from the taste from the food. Are you sure there's a connection?

I actually listen to pink noise, white noise is a generic term.

Google it up, I'm not the only one who likes and hates tonic at the same time.

It is interesting finding out all the different ways Tinnitus manifests in people. Mine is constant multiple tones. As of my last hearing test, which was for the fire department & hazmat team, hearing was fine. I can say I had happy when the test went to the three tone burst, over the single beep; it makes false detection less of a concern.

I have tinnitus pretty bad. Not sure the cause but looking for a cure. What I have along with it is Hyperacusis which can be a trigger to worsen the tinnitus. For example the latch on my patio door sets it off. If you are getting loud sharp noises from your radio or headphones, it can be a trigger, most def... Maybe invest in some adjustable DSP audio processing to cut off sounds below or above 300 to 3 KHz range.
would you be able to provide me with a link to something like that?

would i be able to plug that into my sds200 through an aux cable?
I am not sure what the aux cable does on SDS200. If it is truly unbalanced audio then all you need is a phono cable to connect to the Timewave. But if it is balanced audio like directly from the speaker, you need an isolation transformer otherwise you can have a ground loop, hum and possible damage to the SDS200. This consideration has been discussed on RR in many forums.

and what exactly does that do? do u think a car equalizer would help??
In the olden days, a scanner would have a line out or recorder out jack that was unbalanced. The SDS200 has only speaker output. The speaker amplifier is a bridge tied load (BTL).

A BTL amp wants to see a balanced load like a speaker as pictured, or an isolation transformer. If instead the amp drives an unbalanced load like a sound card, a Timewave DSP, or a preamplifier, one side of the amp A1 or A2 will be shorted to ground providing, no audio, distorted audio, or damage to the amplifier (SDS200 radio). So the device from Best Buy contains a pair of isolation transformers (Stereo), , You need to use only one side L or R.

A car equalizer would still need one of these, however the Timewave DSP has sharper filtering than a car equalizer. I have an equalizer in my Sony TV and can barely discern any changes. I tried to knock out the annoying sibilence that TV produces, to no avail.

It might, but the stereo plugs are going to complicate things. Whatever you do, you need to make sure that each of the speaker leads from A1 and A2 in the example above are connected to one transformer primary input. You might need someone with electronics knowledge, dealing with sound systems, to sort this out for you. It would help if someone made a proper drop in product, but they don't. I suspect a lot of broadcastify feeds are hooked up wrong and that is why many sound like crap.

i have an omnipresent tone around 2700 Hz+ it's hard to pin down but it's a constant whine in my ears. i don't even know how long i've had it but there have been nights where it was bad enough my predisposed-to-certain-ideation brain came up with some solutions that i do not appreciate one bit. i have been in a couple of studies for treatment of my tinnitus including one with Bose using electro-stim contacts on in-ear headphones? like when you go to the chiropractor, and they slap contacts on you and make your muscles tingle and twitch? same thing.
it actually helped but only while i used them. i doubt it'll be a product but who knows.

on a night it's really bad and i can't stop thinking about it, i have to play a game wearing headphones or something that demands my attention and listening. that usually helps. noise canceling headphones obviously make it worse on their own without something being played.

There are some suggestion on Youtube and other places to reduce tinnitus that involves slapping your fingers at the back of your neck, that does something with your nerves and for me it actually works and completely silence my tinnitus. It can be annoying in a quiet bedroom when its time to sleep and that tone can be heard very loudly. Then that trick can be a big relief.

i have fallen asleep listening to something since i was a kid, mainly to help me focus on something familiar. i can recite entire movies and i am untouchable at seinfeld trivia though!

i have never heard of this finger slap thing, my 9yo has a youtube problem so it's blocked on most devices in the house 😂 i am trying to not get super excited about it!
