What was heard on 5020? I’m curious to know if they will move public works and other non public safety services to the system.

The'll probably encrypt the DPW too. LoL. I just listened to the recordings I have for 5020. It sounds like a patch for ALS. I heard District 1 talking to 7225 and 7226 sending them to calls. IDK who 7225 and 7226 is but it sounded like EMS based runs.

I’m still seeing action on the old police channel, maybe the police aren’t all on the new system yet…
I know the FD and EMS was patched to their old channel for a few weeks. The EMS may still be patched.

I believe that is interop 4, I just can't confirm it yet so I haven't sent it in. Saturday 4400 was calling District 1 on it to tell them about an MVA. I read a memo that one of the inter op channels will be used for out of town FDs to talk to district 1 and if there is a fire they will patch it to a TRFD super secret encrypted FG TG.

They go dark on us, we go dark on them.... Fair.
If you can vote in the fire district election on Saturday February 15th send them the message. They have 80 grand slated to buy the civilian supervising dispatcher an SUV. Last I checked and in the city FD I worked in the civilian supervising dispatcher didn't respond to emergencies.

Just heard an agency providing mutual aid to Toms River FD complain to their dispatch that they could not reach Toms River via radio. So much for interoperability. Great job Toms River secret squirrels for encrypting fire transmissions.

Fire District elections happen on the 3rd Saturday in February by law unless they move them to the November general election.

IMHO keeping the elections in February is generally done as a means to keep voter turnout low (often ends up being just firefighters and their families because there’s little to no advertisement of the election) so the commissioners friendliest to the firefighters get elected.
