This past week TRFD was doing May-Day training on the trunk system in the clear on TG 7014. I'm unsure of what it is called. Probably another inter op channel. Someone was also talking on TG 7013 in the clear.
I agree. They wanna go encrypted, its on them, no tips from the public. "We dont want anyone to hear us" what are you afraid of? Criminals hearing you? F them and their secret squirrel sh*t. Dont you think they would want the public's help with tips? Nope. We want our secret squirrel sh*t to remain secret squirrel sh*it. Remember that when someone is calling for help. I hope the idiots who decided on the encryption will be there to help. What a shame. The big wigs screwed the pooch on this one. I know if I see an MVA, or a brush fire, flames showing in a residence, injured persons, crimes, tips on missing persons, you name it in Toms River. I'll just keep rolling down the road. They can handle it with their new fancy encrypted radio system.
I think this is the correct approach. If our emergency responders, or more specifically the decision makers behind approving encryption of all of these communications, want to restrict access, then they should no longer expect cooperation from the community in any form. Let them do the job on their own from here on. I'm sure some of them prefer it that way anyhow.I agree. They wanna go encrypted, its on them, no tips from the public. TRFD VHF 1 and TR EMS UHF are patched to the FD response TG and the EMS TG for now. I'm told it is temporary and will be gone soon. The old dispatch frequencies for FD and EMS still have sporadic activity. Still working out the bugs, apparently.
That sucksTRFD VHF 1 and TR EMS UHF are patched to the FD response TG and the EMS TG for now. I'm told it is temporary and will be gone soon.![]()
100% agree. I really enjoyed listening to TRFD. They are a good FD.That sucks
Are they still toning out on VHF?That's it, the patch from the Toms River 100% encrypted TRS to the FD VHF and EMS UHF is done, no more monitoring them.
Only the tons to activate the sires on the specific firehouse going out. I had my own minitor 4 pager I kept on my counter for the past 5 years. I had all their tones in it to hear what's going on. I unplugged and took the battery out or it today and put it in a box in the garage. Are they still toning out on VHF?
Active911 probably. Most of Ocean County uses itSo how are the volenteer FFs being notified of a fire call?
