I spent 10 years riding with him at the Odenton VFD. He had more knowledge then I could ever pick out of his brain when it came to scanners and pagers. He finally got his dream home on a golf course in NC.

Completely shocked by his death.

Shocked to hear about Troy. :( He was from my area (Severn, MD) before moving to Supply, NC. And only 56 years old. Life is just so fragile and one never knows when your time on planet Earth will come to an end. RIP Troy...

FYI, I submitted a Silent Key report to the QRZ Admins citing the obituary reported in post 38.

Sad news indeed. Condolences to his family. He truly was a very knowledgeable and well respected in our community. Every time I see that avatar of the guy banging his head on the computer desk I think of Troy. I guess now I always will. Godspeed Troy.

He will forever go down in history here at RR. I'm sad I never got the chance to really interact with him in my short time here, but his information has helped me more than I can say. He will truly be missed

:( So sad. My condolences to Troy's family and friends, and to all here in RR that interacted with him. I will miss seeing his knowledge posted here on the forums.

Well said dpcain...

A really solid guy with a level and reasonable perspective, a wealth of knowledge, and a pleasant personality commanding of respect and appreciation. One of the people I talked to most on here, and one I respected very highly. He will be sorely missed, and this community is lesser for his loss.

My sentiments exactly.

Quite a life he had, his service to others was always present on the forums, and he helped me more than once. He was always patient, and was someone who disagreed with others in a respectful manner. Glad to see that he is survived by kids and grand kids, and I hope they all live happy lives and are just as good to their fellow man as Troy was, because in the end that's what it's all about really.
