Unication PPS problem

Hi All

i just get a new computer with windows 10 installed PPS V0.3.14.15 i imported my profile from my G5 i can see everything look ok but when i try to change something on program a new knob position on screen in zone and channel setting i get this error

model is good i can't change it anyway i imported the one in the unit
i also tried to make a new profile and still get the same error

Good idea saving a second time.

How about remove battery from pager, replace, try again.

Reboot computer, check for updates ( don't know if PPS relies on dotnet or othe libraries).

rebooted computer
computer is up to date
removed the battery from my pager and put back on

still same problem

still try to figure out what is the problem with that new computer with windows 10
i never had a problem with my old windows 7 computer before it was plug and play

i uninstalled PPS and re-installed in case but same problem
also tried to run in compatibility mode windows 7-8 still no go
i created an exception in my anti-virus program to make sure nothing is blocked

I'm running the latest Win 10, by itself, win10 probably isn't the problem. For AV I have malwarebytes premium, I have one of the real time protections turned off to allow HRD server to communicate.

Show us a screen grab of No. 4 instead of No. 5. I'd like to see the "group" or talkgroup you're trying to list. That number is really long? what is it?

trying to change the voice storage from off to all voice and not working on the new computer i retry on my work computer and its working

that long # is the wildcard for dmr and its working the problem is not this side i can do the change i want with another computer without problem

Have you uninstalled and reinstalled the software? It sounds like a corruption.

yes i tried and still get the same result I even can’t program my pager

Might need to download a new copy of it. Its possible the version you have is corrupt and even though it installs its not working correctly.

i think this new computer is the problem I can install on another computer take me 5 min and ready to program my pager and with this new dell I can’t

yes I purchased this windows computer because I have a Mac and it’s not easy thing to program scanner and pager with that and I can’t do it

First try booting into Safe Mode and see if PPS runs without errors. If so, you likely have some bad interaction with other software running in the background. Next step would be to try to determine which software is the fault. Failing that, you can also try uninstalling, and then reinstalling PPS in Safe Mode.

Just using the windows uninstall leaves a lot behind.

Your laptop may not be junk. Trying to uninstall the Unication PPS by uninstalling and deleting files won't work like it does for most CPS programs. You MUST use a third party Uninstaller program like REVO unistaller or similar. Otherwise, some files are left behind and a subsequent reinstall will still not fix the problem. I had that same issue, and, although advised to uninstall and reinstall - and I did that several times - I was not able to find ALL the hidden files to get rid of them. They are imbedded in places that are hidden and named things that do not make any sense. Someone recommended I use an uninstaller program, and when I did, it found dozens of files that had weird names and were in unusual places. When it eliminated them, I was able to reinstall the PPS, and it worked first time and every time after that. Might be worth a try!
