• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

new question, I have P25 trunking system programmed. I can receive from 2 towers. South and north. I have both control channels and alternates programmed for each tower. Total of 8 frequencies. Is that correct? Can I add a 3rd tower too?

as a follow up to my earlier post, I have 2 P25 700/800Mhz systems programmed. On one system I'm getting lots of reboots but when listening to the other system I don't. On the system I get lots of reboots I have 2 control channels and 8 alternate channels programmed (NORTH tower control and 4 alternates and SOUTH tower control and 4 alternates). I'll add that I can receive transmissions from both towers. Should I only use one tower and delete the other, could that be making my G4 reboot all the time while just on that knob position?
Thanks

Uncheck the top three boxes in the PPS and see if that solves your reboot issue on the one system.

Thank you for the response. The top 2 were checked along with several others. Should I only leave the check on receiving emergency alarm as you show? I'll update if this helps the constant rebooting on one system.

Uni1 perhaps you can help. I’m on my 2nd G4 and experiencing the same issue with rebooting. I unchecked the boxes as you advised. My system is P25 phase 2 and I have 2 control channels and 8 alternate channels programmed. Only on that system I’m getting constant rebooting. Any other ideas? Do I have too many control channels and alternates programmed?

Sounds like you are trying to listen to multiple sites on one switch setting. Try going as simple as possible. Create a whole new profile and load up just the one CC for the system you are having problems with (the active CC for the site nearest you). Do this by modifying your current profile and saving it as a new profile name. Delete out all the other systems, sites, and TG's. Once all of the questionable sites or settings are gone if the problem still occurs. If not, rebuild slowly, a system at a time, and keep testing.

I really believe it is because you have a single system site with apparently two active CC's and 8 AC's (so two different sites).

My home is covered by 2 towers each with their own control and alt channels. I just kept the tower closest to me and one alternate channel. I than was getting out of range signal. so I added the south tower control channel and 1 alternate. Now I have 2 control channels and each has 1 alternate and so far today no reboots. I might have had a bad alternate channel. I'll see. My other system has 2 towers/control channels and each have 3 alternates programmed and never reboot.
Thanks for the ideas. But I still really like this unication pager

@pro106import When I click that link, it brings me to the Unication page, but there is nothing on it. I only see at the top, "Non User" and logout and version 1.00. Am I missing something?

Can someone send me a screen shot of how to set up the 2-tone for a 1050Hz tone for NWS alert tone? Or maybe a Codeplug sample? Been trying to figure this out and its driving me nuts.
Thanks in advance.
