I’m looking for help on how, if possible, to be able
To connect my father’s homepatrol 2 to any of the local state police frequencies. (We are in Litchfield co) My father used scanners for years, but as we all know much has changed over the past years since he’s used a scanner. As for me, I know little on this topic. We have the scanner connected to an old RadioShack antenna in the attic which is capable of picking up 800MHz.

Through research, I’ve found that the hp2 does not do a great job at connecting to simulcast. Is there anyway to connect without having to change to the SDS type scanners? Software has been updated and the channels are properly programmed into the unit.
Thank you!

One easy thing would be to try using the antenna that came with the radio. Sometimes issues with simulcast can be overcome by trying to only hear one site, so less signal is worth trying.

Have you downloaded the Sentinel program, updated the database and written it to the scanner? I too am in Litchfield Co. I don't find simulcast an issue.

Actually there are several. I run an 14 element Wilson 800 yagi with a JIM-75 pre-amp.

Do you happen to have a photo of your favorites list containing the CLMRN? I had it programmed by the place I purchased it from. I also created my own favorites list, trying different things people have mentioned on Facebook. Maybe I am missing something. Everything is up to date.
