Great sales skills. Clearly you never learned how to engage potential customers and give them a reason to switch to your product.
Thank you. I was hoping for this kind of reply. I learned a long time ago that any publicity is good publicity. Sales are through the roof and exceeded my expectations. BTW, You were never going to be a potential customer in the future.

How often do you run in search vs regular scan mode? Doing some discovery I guess. I probably should more often than I do.

I would say about half the time im in search mode just to hear a lot of traffic. All I monitor is P25 traffic no analog so it's not overwhelming being that im in a small Mississippi delta town.

I watched a video a guy made showing the 'basics' of running an sds100. I liked his mostly bright yellow display so I've been trying to do that with my 200. It looks like I can get it using Sentinel, but somehow can't get it transferred to my scanner. There's some goofy combination of colors that I never picked for anything that always shows up.

Make sure you have the correct Profile opened and select the correct target model. I found it easy to get those settings wrong and download the wrong info. I have a 536, SDS100, and SDS200 and have screwed that up more than once.

Also make sure you're editing the display mode you're using (there's simple and detailed for both conventional and trunking). If you edit one but are using the other it won't be showing what you're expecting.

I think that's what I'm doing, but given my results maybe not. I keep thinking maybe I'm not doing the upload (back to the scanner) right). The incorrect color scheme I keep seeing never changes.

Nice to know "garys", that I'm not the only one. Thanks, both of you. Tonight I'll get back into trying to make this machine do what I want it to do! ;)

That one place...
Ahhh, man, why not? 😊😊😊

LOL

On one their recent shows, they mentioned that.
I guess it happened to someone in the past, and they mentioned it on their show.

We all know that it is obvious as to why not. LOL

But it is 2022, so I figured I would toss that out there.
Logical thinking has been thrown out the door these days, LOL

Quick tip I saw on Scanner Guys.
Do NOT make the background and text colors, the same color.
Unless to remove unwanted text from the screen. For example, I do not use the Department field (which cannot be removed), So I use black on black to make the department invisible.

This gets downvoted every time I say it. But….. Also a good idea to get hands on with your devices and learn them and all the menus. I still do 95% of my programming and editing by hand on the units. The only time I really hook them up is to change to travel profiles, save the current edited profile, and to update firmware.

You never know when you’ll be out in the middle of an unplanned detour in East Bumblecrap Township, Podunk County and your laptop is back at your hotel. 60 seconds of editing and your device that didn’t have Podunk County in it is squawking away with whatever you wanted to hear. Or you’ve made a change in the display’s coloscheme to match your mood or to capture the info you want to hear.
If you don’t know how to edit by hand you’re firing up the app on your phone hoping you hear what you wanted.

Anywell, back on topic.
Thursday night at halftime to ease my nervousness while watching sportsball I changed my 100 from a teal and gold to deep sky blue and red (manually by hand, natch).

Ignore the blue looking different. Apparently I photographed it with a potato. It’s all deep sky blue with the red and slate gray. I know some of the lower info isn’t really needed but my OCD makes me fill in those spots for the detailed display in both trunked and conventional. Some additional color tweaking may happen based on my weekend mood.

I completely agree with this. If you rely only on the computer to do programming you are heading for trouble.

Not to continue the off topic discussion excessively, but this is what the advantage of having the full db onboard is - you just switch over to it and you're monitoring everything that's in the RR db. Is it perfect? No. Most of us certainly tweak things but it will get you by if you're in a scenario like One13Truck laid out. That said, definitely agree that learning the manual input is advisable, too; same for amateur radios. But, back to color schemes...
