;) Folks, if anyone has a suggestion about what they would like from the new owners (suggestions), there is a process that lets you send it to them. This brand just went through an acquisition for a potential to service/make monies in the scanner business (saving the company brand). IF they 'make it' (rescuing the name Whistler), maybe they will ask the membership what they would like IF they decide to PRODUCE a new scanner (as well as modernizing the old hardware's software). I am sure of one thing, all the discussions both here in this forum (and others) about a new Whistler scanner (or changing the way these scanners use 'Easy-Scan'), was hashed over way back when the old Whistler folks were in business. Wishful thinking just doesn't make it happen... ;)

:) Member a727469 #17 posted as I was typing this thought (this is an edit when I saw that post) :)

As I said they know what is needed or else they are very poor investors. As you say it has been hashed over and the former Whistler personnel I am sure read them and hopefully the new owners have had someone review all the more current comments on RR.

I'm everywhere Focker!
Many seem to forget that Whistler sold scanners worldwide and P25 and/or simulcast isn't widely used outside the USA and possibly Canada. So the legacy models are quite usable in other regions. And for conventional DMR, P25 and NXDN they outperform Uniden, even trunked DMR/NXDN performs better than Uniden a lot of times.

But all of what I just said doesn't fit the narrative of a lot of members here. ;)

Agreed on all. I have owned Whistler and they did some things better than uniden and visa versa but there is no narrative. Just friendly scanner lovers enjoying expressing their opinion, 🙂. Remember, whistler went out of business, uniden didn’t.
It’s a free market. Let’s see how it works for scanners. May the games begin.
