My new Pro 197 works great - as long as it's at someone else's house! (I'm in the Indianapolis area which uses a Motorola or p25 system and my reception is garbled on all of the digital channels. I've tried changing the multi-site mode settings and that didn't help.) There are several relatively close TV transmitting towers and a ham radio repeater dish. And I'm almost convinced that's what's causing my problem - but maybe it isn't. Has anyone else encountered a similar problem? Any suggestions GREATLY appreciated.

Yes, when your next to an 800 MHz cell tower like Nextel. After rebanding is complete we should be able to buy a filter to block that noise, but until then we get wiped.

Fortunately, GA
GLOBAL ATTenuation will greatly improve your problem:) That, or, put the radio is a shielded box!

Thanx for the reply. I tried the Global attenuation and that didn't help. A friend, who also has a PRO 197, is bringing his over today to see if his will wirk here. His has a MUCH newer serial number.

Welcome to RR.com, Syclone91. As you can see there are folks here that can offer suggestions to get you running smoothly.

Since your question involves a specific location, I urge you to return to your User CP (the left side of the second blue bar from the top of any page if you are logged in) and edit your profile to include your location (city and state) as you were requested to do in the material e-mailed to you when you registered. Once you fill in your location it will automatically show in each of your posts. Many of the questions you will have, and their answers, are going to be location specific and without having your location showing you will be asked over and over again what it is. So fill it in now and be done with it.

Your question might also be addressed in the Indiana Discussion Forum. Those folks are local to the area and might be in a better position to offer suggestions.

Again, welcome to RR.
